Tara: Do you have any books on robots? Giles: Oh, yes, dozens. There's a lot of research to be done in order to--no, I'm lying. Haven't got squat. I just like watching Xander squirm.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

now that morning = 6:30 for me

That is not morning. That is just after the middle of the night!

(Oh no, Job hunting will mean I have to become a daywalker again. I foresee problems.)

Happy birthday, javachik and Dylan!

Pix, I hope you feel better soon.

The status is NOT quo.

She wants to do a chest X-ray. Um. Ok? At least I'm getting my Flexoril. I said no to the pain shot. If my muscles will chill out, so will the pain.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

re: my gift...It doesn't have to be work-related

Ammunition?

WTF, chest xray?? What's that going to do other than tell you if you have like, cracked ribs?? Or lymphoma. But NSM "back spasm"?

Yeah, I'm glad we finally started talking to each other! And possibly even more glad we don't talk in the mornings....

Hah! That would be a concern of mine. I definitely enjoyed my commute when I was working downtown--walk half a mile, bus for 20 minutes, walk half a mile. It was nice. And if I was lazy on the way home I could take two buses (less walking, more time). But one of my friends is in a vanpool, and they are CRAZY. Like, "Oh my god are you people adults?" One of them likes to grab my friend's boob and the rest of them find that hilarious that she doesn't like it (she's also very butch, which sorta makes it worse). Which...really?!?

Happy birthday and commiseration to those that need it.

I'm having one of those weeks in which I am not dealing with things I should (calling roofer and downspout people) and attempting to deal with things where the dealing goes awry (tensioner on my screen in the screen door broke; I can't even get the right google terms to find a part to fix it and it is only two years old and HomeDespot was useless so I'm kinda pissy) or dealing with things I'd really rather not (cat barf and puke and another load of laundry tonight since someone hacked up all over the bathroom rug. Given the grass, it was Loki) and I'm just sorta done with it all for the moment.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Happy birthday, javachik!

Pix, I hope your back feels better soon. Chest x-ray? Weird.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I love this quote from Tom Hardy, because I had thought he was about to be typecast as a bruiser, but then I saw so many people surprised that he was picked for Bane:

"But also I’m terrified of big men!” He laughs. “Make no bones about it, there’s nothing pleasurable about getting your head kicked in by a really big guy. As a young man, I’d hide from boxing clubs and gyms, but I didn’t want to feel… small. Vulnerable. So I thought, I need to do something like this.
