Mal: Well, look at this! Appears we got here just in the nick of time. What does that make us? Zoe: Big damn heroes, sir.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

God, oatmeal is the fucking best.

And how the hell does A know exactly when I get back to my desk? I'm trying to make the most of sitting apart from them while I still can. I feel...exposed.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I swear, there is some sort of timer that goes off in my head every few weeks, and then I spend a day or two obsessively searching for a blazer with wide b&w stripes. Yes, another one. I am just going to have to track down the right sort of fabric and have what I want MADE, dammit.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

One day of school left.

Please hurry.

And tell me why, for the love of God, the PTA wants to give their teacher appreciation thing at 1 pm on the last day of school, an hour after kids are released, while teachers are trying to grade and enter the two finals taken that morning and do the 18 zillion things on our check out list before we can leave?

Unless it's filet and truffled potatoes with creme brulee, it's not appreciation. It's...I appreciate the gesture, but the timing makes it an annoyance.

Would you call it bestiality if the other species is sentient?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

No.

Wait, are you talking about aliens? Or an Earth species? If you're talking about, say, dolphins, and assuming dolphins are sentient and could consent to interspecies sex... then I don't know.

I don't think it should matter. Sentient and consenting is sentient and consenting.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I hope so. Otherwise the Smallville fic I've been reading lately takes on new overtones.

Yeah, that makes sense.

It seems part of the reason bestiality is considered immoral is that animals can't consent to sex with humans. Which is obviously not an issue with a sentient, consenting dolphin.

"So long, and thanks for all the sex"?
