I mean, let's say you did kill us. Or didn't. There could be torture. Whatever. But somehow you found the goods. What would your cut be?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Although there are a LOT of Tims out there...

Kon will cut you, if you try anything.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Whoo, I need to stop backreading on the plan b stuff. Because I keep running across exchanges like this one:

@amandapalmer You are a towering talent. Many are not, I hope you raise a glass for those who #fuckplanb and end up fucking their future.

@FluoroNinja if anybody fucks their future due to striving towards a passion, i'd say it was a probably a fantastic fuck.

And then I get all head-explody. Because you know what? No one lives in a vacuum, and if someone has fucked up their future, they've probably also done collateral damage to other people's lives.

Because books.

This.

In September 1996, [Tiny Tim] suffered a heart attack just as he began singing at a ukulele festival

Well, that's just fitting and sad.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Are these fantastic fuck people, like, fifteen? Because not only is the whole art-sans-safety net thing fucking immature and eyerolly, but no one single fuck is all that either.

And again, I am going to say that I have conflicted views and feelings about Amanda Palmer and just leave it at that.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

He's dead, so unless you are ZombieTimsexual, you are safe!

That might be how you're reading the conversation, but I disagree. We weren't talking about "I want my own very specific set of likes and dislikes to become its own distinct label with a support group and flag and pride march!" We're discussing sexualities that aren't the majority, but they're certainly larger than a group of one.

The Ace flag is FUG, for the record.

I mean, it does HELP to figure out at least a general bucket for someone's normal when it doesn't mesh with your own normal. Like, a lot. A lot a lot. For people and for their partners. HUGE SIGHS OF RELIEF! HAPPY FLAGS OF NOTHING IS WRONG, WE ARE JUST DIFFERENT!

I could have some totally tl;dr discussions on how I have some concerns over the way some people in fandom have grabbed hold of the Ace label (no, seriously, if you've had a history of violent childhood sexual abuse, please make sure you have a therapist, even if you do ultimately decide that, yep, you really are Ace; and also, if you have possible hormone issues, for fuck's sake, keep an eye on them -- I don't care if you never want sex, but I do care about your health, people, and trust me: ignoring hormone issues because they aren't bothering you and you feel fine is a BAD IDEA), and how to express that without dismissing a legit variation in the spectrum of sexual desire. (Seen also in the animal kingdom at large, at a rate of about 1% or so. War Emblem, the Derby and Preakness winner in the year of the first F2F turned out to be in that one percent. Hormones and everything perfectly normal. Just didn't have any need to breed.)

But that's sort of a one-on-one conversation to be had over cocktails, and goes hand-in-hand with "Have you MET cis Ace guys, fangirls? Have you? TRUST ME, THEY AIN'T BOVVERED.*"

And then I can explain the patriarchy again.

* STUDIES BACK ME UP ON THIS. I AM NOT TALKING OUT OF MY PERSONAL SAMPLE SIZE FOR THE HOUSEHOLD.

One of the farmers I buy stuff from at the weekly market produced a vid: [link]

It's a neat little thing.

God, I love living where I do and having discovered more of this area.

Good local foods, awesome neighbors, music to walk home to (have I mentioned hearing a marching band practice either at Morganthaler HS or Morgan State, dunno which, in the air?) the lake, the Y, etc etc.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

Sigh. Amanda Palmer. Conflicted, yes.

Because not only is the whole art-sans-safety net thing fucking immature and eyerolly, but no one single fuck is all that either.

What amych said.

Hooray, Gud!

I would like to point out that, if he is in fact deceased, this scenario doesn't get any better.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Oh! This is basically the Rent argument I have with people, isn't it?
