Goodbye and Good Riddance 2010: Don't Let the Door Hit Ya...

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Oh, and 2010? We have a few words for you.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

lisah, what Kate P said. It is completely up to the sender.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I mail mine out with "Secret Santa" in the sender block, but there's usually something in or about the package that will give it away.

My SS gift got dropped off at the UPS store today and I was told it should be in my giftee's hands in time for Christmas. Cheapest package I've mailed from there to date. (They keep very good records.)

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I am *hoping* to get mine out tomorrow.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Yeah, I'm hoping to get mine out tomorrow, too. It depends on how things are here at the House o' Plague. (Pete's down with it now. Whee.)

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Part of mine went out, part has yet to go. Tomorrow, I hope.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I have been super-stealth Secret Santa-ed. A couple of weeks ago I received a pair of gorgeous lake glass earrings that I posted about in full glee. I figured that was my present, and a delightful one at that. So when I came home today and found a package with international stickers on it, my first thought was that I'd screwed up posting to my recipient, and that Buffista wouldn't get Secret Santa-ed until well into 2011.

But no! It was a second package from Sue, who sent me poems from a totally new-to-me Canadian poet (Margaret Avison--who, at first glance, looks similar to Mary Oliver, whose work I love); yummy looking coffee, chocolate, and hot pepper jelly; and three of the cutest bird ornaments that I've ever seen for my tree.

Thank you, Sue! It was a lovely surprise.

I sent her a very nice email back, saying all was fine, no worries.
