I think I must have picked up seneschal from fantasy novels. I just looked up how to pronounce it earlier, and have already forgotten.
Natter 67: Overriding Vetoes
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, nail polish, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Brenda, shame you can't be with me! Even more annoying--I'm sitting on the steps (which are pebbled, and OW) because the advertised WiFi doesn't reach my room. Hrmph.
...I do rather prefer this weather to Seattle's current weather, though! I just wish I had someone with me to talk to.
You know, meara, this is why I've never gone on vacation by myself! Exactly this fear. I vote you hang out at the bar until you make friends.
For those of you following at home, today is the sixth anniversary of Emmett breaking his nose playing baseball.
Which apparently is also billytea's wedding anniversary.
I like vacationing by myself. But I gotta keep moving.
I made the Nutella mug cake again, this time with Nutella. It's pretty freaking rewarding for a six minute exercise.
H'm. I've got Nutella at home, and a mug and a microwave at work. Clearly something needs to be done about this.
I started taking more adventur-y vacations after one in Cancun. But it's still enjoyable! Plus I've never been so tan.
Sara, I'm not going to lie, I'm kind of relieved that NOVA is like the one of our shows I don't feel like I need to be watching, but I'm really glad you are!
I've decided NOVA has the biggest peak-to-trough of any show on the air. Some episodes are fantastic. Some are so incredibly, incredibly awkward and boring, I can't imagine who the audience is (and I love science docs!).
my worst experience with a science program was one on the History channel. It was all about the rings on the planets in our solar system.
They first started talking about the rings of Saturn. But then said that there were rings around Uranus. And Jupiter. And Neptune. They mentioned no rings around Mars, but said that in the next segment they were going to discuss the rings around Earth.
I couldn't believe this! I hadn't heard about rings around EARTH. This was exciting news. I sat through the commercial break on the edge of my seat.
The rings around Earth? They were referring to satellits orbiting the planet and said our rings were man-made.
Fuck you History channel. And the prehistoric horses you rode in on. That is not what your average viewer was expecting and you should be ashamed for getting our hopes up at something monumental.
One post left! I just this second realized we need a new thread and a new name (but not from me; I'm the world's worst at titles).
It's The Universe. Ep is called Hunt for Ringed Planets in Season 4. I found it fascinating.
