Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Did you miss the part where it's from France??

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Can someone tell me what I am missing about this wicker plant stand? What makes it worth $1200?

I like to think it's because of the beetle damage. You can't just fake that stuff! Maybe they throw in a free beetle with purchase.

Our wings are not tired.

I guess I could sell ALL of my French souvenirs for $1200 then! I will be rich rich rich.

Although, sadly, none of them have the valuable beetle damage.

I should really finish packing, but my tush is stuck to the couch. As soon as CJ gets home from school tomorrow, we head for the airport! Woot.

And why do I put the effort out to clean the house for the cat sitter and not just for myself? I do hate coming home to a messy house, so maybe that is part of it.

Compassionately intolerant

Discworld fans, this news is making me feel very torn between squee and fear.

I'm right there with you Holli.

The only hope I have comes from the line about the team involved being the ones who make the SkyOne series.

I loved Going Postal so very much.

I seriously disliked, however, the Colour of Magic and barely tolerated Hogfather.

If Terry is happy, I'm happy, but I might not watch more than the first episode if they don't get it right. The City Watch in my head is nearly perfect. I may not need to see it with my eyes.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

The City Watch in my head is nearly perfect. I may not need to see it with my eyes.

This is pretty much where I am. But I once felt the same way about Pride and Prejudice, so.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I seriously disliked, however, the Colour of Magic and barely tolerated Hogfather.

Susan was the best thing about Hogfather, which I felt was very uneven and didn't seem to strike the right tone. I didn't watch the others.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

As for paying $15 a month for NYT online, I am certainly thinking about it. We read NYT daily, especially my husband. I'm more likely to read NYT online than to read the copy of the LAT that gets delivered to the house. Really, as far as the paper copy goes, the only days I really want to peruse the paper are Thursdays (Food section) and Sundays.

I'm totally doing it. And also contemplating going back to my weekend paper subscription of the NYT. So if I have it, I'll be sure to do a daily link rundown and you all can refer into the articles without it counting against your 20 monthly freebies.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I might get a paper delivered if I didn't live on the 4th floor of a brownstone. By the time I dragged my ass down there, the paper would be sure to be gone.
