Compassionately intolerant

Susan was the best thing about Hogfather, which I felt was very uneven and didn't seem to strike the right tone. I didn't watch the others.

I totally agree.

The Colour of Magic was as atmospherically perfect as Going Postal, but was very poorly cast.

I think the SkyOne team finally got their feet under them for GP, but we'll see. I sort of can't imagine the much rich, world building in a weekly.

One of the very best bits about GP was that the extras, in large part, were DiscWorld fans from around the world who came with their own wardrobes and basically got paid scale to live in their dream world. Maybe the new series can be like a rotating themepark that way.

an overblown libretto and a sumptuous score/ could never contain the contradictions I adore

I didn't know that! I'm totally charmed, now. Man, I would love to do that.

Back from going out to Holy Frijoles for St. Paddy's. Where we had beer and margaritas. We've decided that on Cinco de Mayo, we're going to an irish bar...

Hilariously enough, ran into my other neighborhood crew as we were trolling places to drink at. Find it even more amusing that I live in the middle of the block, am the newest one, and am the bridge between these two groups. (Who, honestly, would meld just fine. Just haven't, for whatever reason.)

I smell like a mexican restaurant. Loki finds it fascinating.

There's a food truck here called Jose O'Malleys. Never eaten it, but sounds trippy (they have couches!)

Couches are good. We scored one tonight. And I got dish on the Clintons. Neighbor is a DC designer, friends with theirs.

So I am falling back in love with Grant Hill based on his response to Jalen Rose. I know he's an ass kicking basketball player, but he has a mind that should have chosen law school. eta: [link] to the blog where Grant responds to Rose.

Love.

I think he totally does his education from Duke proud.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Too late to see it live, but ladies, Enver Gjokaj is on Community tonight. With a Balkan accent. It'll be on demand/hulu.

Also, think Rick for the Times educator subscription link. Thinking about it. Sunday delivery with my coffee!

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Have we heard from ita since earlier this morning? I hope she's sleeping a lot, but I worry.
