Also, one of the superconservative people on my friendslist just posted an article about how Obama's trip to India will include a visit to the Taj Mahal. Based on other things she's posted, I'm pretty sure she means it as some sort of indicting religious thing. No one else has commented yet. Should I: a) ignore it, because supporter, b) ask why she's posted the link, or c) comment saying wow, that's great, I've always wanted to see the Taj Mahal?

I was talking with someone in the office about something stupid Christine O'Donnell said and she was offended and read me an e-mail she'd gotten. In it, the sender had compared the U.S.'s treatment of illegal aliens (saying that they come here, get welfare, free healthcare, free education, etc.) with that of other countries, pointing out that in these other countries - among them Iran, North Korea, Cuba - anyone entering the country illegally is jailed at best.
So I've been wondering - why is it that some people think we should emulate these countries?
