"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

David! What's your opinion on Sandy Alderson?

I'll second javachik's opinion - he's great. Super smart and competent, but pretty tough too (ex-Marine). He was the guy in charge of putting together the A's back in the 80s and 90s, and bringing Beane up in the organization.

He knows how to draft, doesn't make dumbass free agent investments and knows how to put together a winning lineup. He'll hire smart people and won't be afraid to let them contribute.

With the Mets budget and talent core he'll be able to have them competitive and organizationally sound within a couple years.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Huh. I didn't even get the form letter.

Time to escalate, I think.

I especially like how they were all about how long they've had it as a product. I wonder when the description went up, do you know? I mean, even after it was pointed out to me, I had to stare at it for a while to understand what they were doing.

Actually, the more I read those responses, the more burned I get.

I can assure you that in no way was it our attention to poke fun of those of a Japanese heritage or those with pronunciation difficulties and apologize if it comes off as so.

Really? Really, it's about "pronunciation difficulties"? It's about there being a different linguistic sound in a language you don't fucking speak, that your ear can't hear or respond to, asshole. Fuck you, Lush.

I'm going to post over in DW/LJ. Would you guys object to me quoting the responses you've received?

Our wings are not tired.

I won't be buying any more Lush products. If you blog about it, let me know if I can link to it?

OH! I think that was actually my fault. Awkward wording that they cut and pasted into their response.

YES! This is what I meant but my brain couldn't find the right words for it.

Okay, good. I wondered where they pulled that from. If they were responding to you, it's not so bad.

Except embarrassing that I wrote something so bad! I just wanted to send it off quick before I got distracted and forgot.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

No, it's fine, lisah. I just thought they pulled that out of the air, which was a weird way to respond, I thought. As a bit coming from you, trying to address with them what the problem is, it's fine.

I totally don't want you to come away from this feeling badly. You publicly objected to an incidence of casual racism that you saw, and that's a marvelous thing and you should be lauded for it.
