"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Hey, Jim Parsons and Lee Pace are making their Broadway Debut in The Normal Heart.

And Joel Grey is directing!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I don't actually have time for the noodles and cabbage. I forgot I have to leave in about an hour to go help the SO out with his Rock Academy. His fellow teacher is traveling for the next two weeks, and his boss (fellow teacher's dad) is recuperating from shoulder surgery, so he's putting in extra hours. And I said I'd go, because it sounds like fun, and because he needs the extra wrangling help, but now I wish I'd started the noodles earlier. Or hadn't agreed to go.

So what else should I eat?

Also, I did my nails earlier today and they are pretty, but totally the wrong color for my shirt, even though I tried to overlay something to get it closer. And my nails are pretty but my hands are a serious wreck.

Java, I feel some of your pain--due to the FDA wanting some stuff, our database lock just got moved up six weeks. As in "finish this week, instead of seven weeks from now". OMG, ridiculous crack-smoking people!!!! I've been making ridiculous phone calls all day, and having to change all my travel.

Our wings are not tired.

meara, yeah, I saw that and was like "thank goodness I don't have to also re-arrange tons of travel right now too!" I'd go nuts.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Well, bitching about my review made it happen, at least an abbreviated version. I still feel disappointed with myself, but that's par for course. No raise, but bonus. Which...I'm not complaining.

Bonus is good! Yay bonus!

Definite yay bonus. After my first ten or so years of working without them, it's kind of weird to be up for them now.

And we pulled off a hell of a migration/upgrade/implementation last year. I hope some of the other people on the team are getting hella big bucks.

hip deep in pie

Yay bonus.

My onerous task day is pretty much a wash, thanks to PMS nausea/migraine. I also travelled back from my parent's plae today, and took a gravol to keep me from throwoing up. Now, I am too drowsy to move. I'll be lucky to get the trash out.

Also, I really want to go to Ireland.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, I'm declaring fail on my original onerous tasks. But I did things that were, in fact, onerous, so oh well. It's just that I still have the original tasks to do.

I want to go to Ireland. At one point in my fantasy vacation planning, I bought Ireland by Rail kinda guidebooks and stuff. But that was when I worked for the Man and had money. Funny, that.

Now the Biscuit has climbed up into my lap (all 55 pounds of him) to inform me that it is six minutes until his dinnertime, and do I feel adequately prepared to provide for his needs at that hour? Okay, dog, I'll go feed us both.
