Definite yay bonus. After my first ten or so years of working without them, it's kind of weird to be up for them now.
And we pulled off a hell of a migration/upgrade/implementation last year. I hope some of the other people on the team are getting hella big bucks.

My onerous task day is pretty much a wash, thanks to PMS nausea/migraine. I also travelled back from my parent's plae today, and took a gravol to keep me from throwoing up. Now, I am too drowsy to move. I'll be lucky to get the trash out.
Also, I really want to go to Ireland.
Yeah, I'm declaring fail on my original onerous tasks. But I did things that were, in fact, onerous, so oh well. It's just that I still have the original tasks to do.
I want to go to Ireland. At one point in my fantasy vacation planning, I bought Ireland by Rail kinda guidebooks and stuff. But that was when I worked for the Man and had money. Funny, that.
Now the Biscuit has climbed up into my lap (all 55 pounds of him) to inform me that it is six minutes until his dinnertime, and do I feel adequately prepared to provide for his needs at that hour? Okay, dog, I'll go feed us both.

Okay, cold letter and follow-up letter written. One more follow up, PR query letter, and financial counselor letter, and then I think I'm done for the day.

And yep, Tep, Hec was right--it's a lovely place full of lovely people, but I'm still in the same division with the same title; they played musical chairs with us without giving anyone a boost, and made it clear that no raises would be forthcoming for the next, well, ever.

Well, getting away from Rage Nurse had to be good for your mental health, but getting a higher salary and more edit-y stuff would be good for you and more in line with what you want to do. Good luck!

When I worked for Physicians for Social Responsibility (working to keep us all safe from nuclear dangers), a new accountant came on board wearing really nice suits. A few months later, the FBI showed up. Apparently, this gem had stolen multiple hundreds of thousands of dollars from the Blind Veterans of America. Not just vets who sacrificed for their country, but vets who lost their vision as a result.

Well, I just wrote an embarrassing email to my IT director (thank Dog we have an excellent relationship) explaining that I lied* to him earlier today about my progress. That was fun.
(*I sat here staring at the word "lied" in my composed email for a long time and finally changed it to "misrepresented".)
ETA: "embarrassing" is one of those words that looks incorrectly spelled no matter what I do.
