Spike? It's you. It's really you! My therapist thought I was holding on to false hope, but…I knew you'd come back. You're like…you're like Gandalf the White, resurrected from the pit of the Balrog, more beautiful than ever. Oh…he's alive Frodo. He's alive.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

This is random, but I just folded all of my socks for the first time in literally years. It's kind of exciting! And discovered a pair of tights hiding, so now I don't feel that bad about not doing laundry today. Effing laundry!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

It's kind of exciting!

Effing laundry! Go you with the socks. I have unfolded socks right now and it's...it's...not so great. ::shame::

Seriously, I gave up folding socks on purpose years ago. I'm not sure what came over me today.

I'm also sometimes surprised at how satisfying a proper portion of something can be.

This has been the surprise of the food log for me. Knowing the calorie count of a portion makes it more satisfying in odd, knowledge is power, sort of way.

I've gotten to the end of my calorie allotment in an evening and actually felt full...just because I know I've had all I need.

Today was a 'cheat' day, so a lot more calories than usual. What's cool is that I'm supposed to have one day a week where I relax, but this is the first one I've actually done in a month. On the other days, I got to the end of my allotment and just didn't want anything else. So, yay!

bonny, thanks for the acknowledgment.

Would they have been happy to use the term as a title for a doucmentary they were involved in if it was an offensive term?

Asian actors, and Native actors, and many others, participated in projects that they considered offensive. You take work where you can find it when you're a minority working in a field that discriminates by nature. The mere existence of such a program does not ameliorate the use of the term everywhere. Probably some people aren't offended by it. I am. I'm not really interested in arguing the nuances of offense, so I am disinclined to take this much further.

Anyway, like I said, thanks ita for bringing it up, and thanks bonny for responding gracefully when called on it. This is why I love us.

Yeah, portion size is so weird. I'm thinking about buying some vintage plates so they're a more reasonable size. Then the right amount of food will look ok, instead of this dollop in the middle of a huge plate.

I haven't used my dinner plates since the surgery, just the salad plates.

All my dinner ware is uber-thick C&B cafe stock. The dinner plate is so huge, I've taken to using them only as platters. The salad plate (9in) is now the dinner plate. I've also acquired much smaller bowls. It seems funny now, how different they seem.

My cat's snoring on top of her condo, and it's quite loud. Very funny!
