My taxes, they are done. And now my head hurts.

hip deep in pie

I was watching as I did dishes and made soup. So kind of.

Before that I watched Misfits. Swoon.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

When I worked at Michael's, I stocked up on cross-stitch kits and also learned how to make bows--very handy!

I've got my grandma's candy bowl, which is a pottery piece that she apparently painted in a craft class back in the 1950s. She always had wrapped caramels and hard candy in it. I just keep it empty in my tv stand.

Oh, and I've got most of my weekend Onerous Task done! At least, I've cleaned all the clothes out of the drawers and closet, but I do still have to take care of the shelf in the closet and all the paperwork in the other drawers. I ended up with three bags of donations and six bags of garbage, and got my three very full drawers of old sweats and t-shirts down to one. My closet is reduced in half, and I even went through everything I had on the floor (except for the shoes), and finally found my blanket that had been hidden in the corner of the closet.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I finally got some drawing done. Yesterday was a complete waste of a day.

I love those La Vie La Vosgienne pastilles

Mmm, love those things.

The friend I just went to dinner with gave me this thing he called a cookie, but I think it more cakey, and said it's a New York thing. DELICIOUS is what it is--he said it took three hours to make, because it's three layers of different colored (very thin) marzipan cake (?), with raspberry jam between, coated in chocolate top and bottom. OM NOM NOM.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Italian rainbow cookie! (I've heard a few different names for them.) I love those.

Now I want some Italian rainbow cookies. I have a feeling this may be a project for the next snow day.

A quick google tells me "Italian Rainbow Cookie" is exactly it! So good.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

My grandmother had cigarettes. No candy, but a lazy suzan as a candy dish. She also kept cookies in the freezer. I miss her.

I've gone to the dark side. I have shopped at Walmart twice in the past two weeks. Between the need for cold medicine and the realization that coconut milk is $.40 cheaper there (and we use about a can of coconut milk every day or two, so this is not a small expense over the course of the month) I couldn't resist. I bring it up because I also bought two candy jars there. The old fashioned glass kind.

Speaking of sick, sara, how long did your cold last? Cause I'd like mine to end soon, but it's been about a month and I'm still coughing so much that may have cracked a rib. Is it time to see a doctor?
