I love those La Vie La Vosgienne pastilles

Mmm, love those things.

The friend I just went to dinner with gave me this thing he called a cookie, but I think it more cakey, and said it's a New York thing. DELICIOUS is what it is--he said it took three hours to make, because it's three layers of different colored (very thin) marzipan cake (?), with raspberry jam between, coated in chocolate top and bottom. OM NOM NOM.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Italian rainbow cookie! (I've heard a few different names for them.) I love those.

Now I want some Italian rainbow cookies. I have a feeling this may be a project for the next snow day.

A quick google tells me "Italian Rainbow Cookie" is exactly it! So good.

My grandmother had cigarettes. No candy, but a lazy suzan as a candy dish. She also kept cookies in the freezer. I miss her.

I've gone to the dark side. I have shopped at Walmart twice in the past two weeks. Between the need for cold medicine and the realization that coconut milk is $.40 cheaper there (and we use about a can of coconut milk every day or two, so this is not a small expense over the course of the month) I couldn't resist. I bring it up because I also bought two candy jars there. The old fashioned glass kind.

Speaking of sick, sara, how long did your cold last? Cause I'd like mine to end soon, but it's been about a month and I'm still coughing so much that may have cracked a rib. Is it time to see a doctor?

Um, yeah? Mine lasted at most 10 days. I still have more snot than normal, but I figure that is other shit, and thank god for swimming as it clear that shit out. Gross, but true.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

My cold has transformed from a high-ish fever with minimal mucus production to a dry, hacking cough that comes and goes in such strong fits that I have vomited twice. I have taken Delsym, Robitussin, and cough syrup with codiene - not all at once - and still I haven't stopped coughing. I have to work tomorrow (it's NAAPID + Valentine's Party) but I can't sleep cause the coughing wakes me up. What the hell?

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

It sounds like some of you have what I had last year. Thera-flu was my friend especially since I had to keep working. The acute symptoms did last a couple of weeks and the cough lingered much longer, but my coughs usually do.

Aimee! You have what I have, sort of. I haven't thrown up. But it's bad.

For night time I have tried: Nyquil, Theraflu, Delsym, Codeine Flonase (when my nose is stuffy), Zyrtec and in desperation sleeping pills and flexeril. Like you, not at the same time.

Last night it was Theraflu, Flexeril, Zyrtec and I slept until 3:00 before a coughing fit woke me. Unlike other nights I have been able to go back to sleep.

K has the same thing and both of us have been sick for WEEKS. K went to her doctor and she gave her antibios but it didn't help.

My ribs hurt. And Noah has it too. Blessedly, not Grace. Grace, is, however, colonized with MRSA.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I have had post nasal drip since December! The world's mildest cold has produced the most irritating mild side effect. Two weeks of flonase-- nothing. I'm beginning to think I have a brain fluid leak.
