I have a CD player in the car, but I mostly listen to NPR. I have an ipod adapter that uses the radio for long trips. And even then, I often listen to downloaded NPR podcasts. t /geek

It looks like my profile has a myspace badge saying I joined before it was cool. I don't even know.
In LA I was never able to find a sliver of space in the FM spectrum to use a radio adapter in. Cassette adapter all the way.

Same thing for Chicago. But on long road trips, I could usually find blank spaces in the FM spectrum, but I usually had to find a new one every hour or so.
My stereo in my '94 Civic has a CD player, an earphone jack, an USB port, and bluetooth. Connecting my MP3 player to my radio wirelessly feels like living in the future. Mostly though I listen to stuff off of a flash drive hooked up to the USB port in the glovebox. I wouldn't mind having an SD slot too, but maybe that's overkill.
I have a tapedeck in my car, but it's pretty old. Still, that's how I play the iPod. I imagine those newfangled cars have that taken care of...
Here's what I dig about the iPod Touch: I hook it up to the car stereo, go to the video player, and can hit Play on a movie or TV show and listen to it. I find doing that with things I've already watched (The OC, for instance) to be very soothing. Seriously.
Image of the Day: why is there a Borg cube in France?
'Orange Cube,' a design from Jakob + Macfarlane Architects, is, well, exactly what it sounds like. This soon to be commercial and cultural complex in Lyon, France will have five floors of pure orange wonderfulness right along the River Saône.
I am now earwormed with Cat Stevens' "I Want to Live in a Wigwam," except I'm hearing it as "I Want to Live in a Borg Cube."

You can do that with even my classic kinda old iPod too.
Which is almost at capacity for me--I'm trying to decide if I should get an iPod classic and go for the big guns with storage, or I should go iTouch. I'm not concerned about the apps, but I do like the much nicer screen for video viewing.

yeah, it was hard in DC, too. especially since it was digital and moved by .2 instead of .1
I am still waiting impatiently for a 128 GB or larger iPod Touch. I love my iPod Touch, but I also love being able to carry my entire music collection with me. I have an iPod Classic that had all my music on it, but its HD died. Maybe I'll get that fixed....
Though it looks better and provides better ergonomics I am sort of sad to see the days of easily replaceable car stereos going away. At least factory units are starting to have USB ports.
