You can do that with even my classic kinda old iPod too.
Which is almost at capacity for me--I'm trying to decide if I should get an iPod classic and go for the big guns with storage, or I should go iTouch. I'm not concerned about the apps, but I do like the much nicer screen for video viewing.
I'm not very big into apps myself (except skeeball). The screen really is great for video viewing. And I'm surprised at how enjoyable surfing the intertubes is on it.

I have about 120GB of music, and somewhere around 150-200GB of video. Which reminds me - I need a bigger HD for my MacBook Pro.
I don't like the idea of my music being only on a computer drive, I want a CD as backup. Which means, I suppose, burning stuff to CDs when they decide to stop producing CDs with music already on them.

That's why I love my Time Capsule - it does automatic backups of my Mac laptops when I'm home. But it just occurred to me - I should probably have some offsite backup as well, in case my apartment burns down or something.
