"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Happy birthday Suzi!

My onerous task was actually coming into the office today.

Happy Birthday, Suzi!

I am, as usual for the past four years, waiting upon the lovely people at DFAS Cleveland to send me my Navy W-2. Federal agency and they can't get me my W-2 by the Jan. 31 deadline? Fuckos.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

You can't file yet anyway this year, because of the mortgage deduction though, right? Or at any rate they won't be processing them for a couple of weeks yet.

Very true, which is why it's not a super big deal. Except that they haven't actually sent me one for four years. I had to phone and fax them last year to finally get them to cough up all the ones they hadn't sent.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Happy birthday, Suzi! That's a great gift from K-bug. I cannot believe she is graduating (or walking, anyway) already!

I should try to import my 1099-B again today, last time I tried I got a message saying they wouldn't be available until now. I have a feeling it's going to take forever to come in the mail.

See this is the sort of thing that makes me go to a pro. What's this about processing mortgage deductions delay?

Tax cut changes/extensions were passed so late in the year that the IRS needed extra time to get their systems set up. They said mid-February for people with mortgage deductions, tuition credits and a handful of other things. I haven't checked to see if that timing still holds.
