Happy birthday, Suzi!
Sarameg, I have a fairly simple return (no real estate or investment income), and my CPA charges me about $100.00. She always finds at least $100.00 worth of refund (or, one worrisome year, reduced payout) than I would, so that, plus the lack of hassle, makes going to a pro totally worth it for me. She also handled my Dad's estate return, which would have had me tearing my hair out. It ran to more like $150.00, but again, totally worth it.
Happy Birthday Suzi!
This is the first year that my taxes will be straightforward and easy. But, I am a slacker (as in, it took me a week to get the stuff mailed to my accountant), so it's easier for me to pay.
Did I mention I got my tax refund about two weeks ago?
::runs away::
I am math phobic so it's way easier for me to pay! Thanks for reminding me to call my guy. We need to figure out if we are filing jointly or separately this year except we don't need to figure it out because my guy will run all the numbers and figure out what's best for us!
Ugh, taxes are gonna suck this year. I had the student aide job from January to June last year, for which I was paid directly by the student's parents with no withholding. So I'm gonna owe a ton for that.
We have two properties and some rental income from one and a home office and not standard deductions is muy complicado (to me anyway).
Hubby's SS income and Medicare make it just weird enough for me that I like help. For instance, I didn't know that the deductions for Medicare count as a medical expense that can be used as a deduction.
Thanks for the b-day wishes.
K-Bug sent me a box and called today so I could open it while she was "there". It is full of TJ goodies!!! Some Teriyaki sause she swears by, Maple cookies, Candy Cane Jo-Jos, some trail mix, chocolate covered pomogranate seeds, and some "quick cook" steel cut oatmeal. I completely miss the frozed steel cut oatmeal they have.
I had made some cupcakes over the weekend and saved a couple to have for today. I had cake for breakfast!
