I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Happy birthday, Suzi! That's a great gift from K-bug. I cannot believe she is graduating (or walking, anyway) already!

I should try to import my 1099-B again today, last time I tried I got a message saying they wouldn't be available until now. I have a feeling it's going to take forever to come in the mail.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Annoying.

Punishingly Intricate

You can't file yet anyway this year, because of the mortgage deduction though, right? Or at any rate they won't be processing them for a couple of weeks yet.

See this is the sort of thing that makes me go to a pro. What's this about processing mortgage deductions delay?

Tax cut changes/extensions were passed so late in the year that the IRS needed extra time to get their systems set up. They said mid-February for people with mortgage deductions, tuition credits and a handful of other things. I haven't checked to see if that timing still holds.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Oh, yeah, Brenda. I even sicced my senators on their asses back in 1997, when the sent my money to the wrong bank two years running. I'm not afraid to pull out the big guns on them if I have to.

Coding and Sleeping

My taxes should be easy. Our mortgage interest is too puny to bump us past the standard deduction. Well, not totally easy because I have to deal with two states.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

This is the house I want to live in: Shelf-Pod by Kazuya Morita Architecture Studio

This house by Kazuya Morita Architecture Studio in Osaka Prefecture, Japan, is completely lined with with pine shelves to display the owners’ extensive collection of books.

Called Shelf-Pod, the house features interlocking laminated pine-boards that slot together to form the latticed shelving units.

The interior has a pyramid-shaped ceiling and wooden platforms of differing heights that form steps, tables and flooring.

Fucking gorgeous....

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Happy birthday, Suzi!
