"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I haven't been able to determine if fizzy water tastes just like fizzy water or if it tastes like soda water or something. Because I don't like soda water.

Also, does it make you float and, if so, is there a giant fan overhead.

Because books.

Also, does it make you float and, if so, is there a giant fan overhead.

That was the scene that always terrified me.

More than the boat scene?

Now tagless for your comfort.

I'm shocked that I can't get DH to pull the trigger on a Soda Club. He's nuts about fountain sodas and I think we'd save a load--considering how much diet coke I consume on a daily basis.

Yeah! Immediate danger! Not just scary pictures on the walls.

I love our Soda Club beyond reason.

Jessica and I belong to the same fan club. I lurve my Soda Stream like it was a living thing.

I assumed that, during the winter, I'd use it less, but that has not turned out to be the case. I just enjoy it, and am therefore staying much better hydrated in the lower humidity than ever.

Jilli, I live alone and Bartleby isn't interested in fuzzy water, so I speak from some authority.

It is SO worth it, even for one person.

I shopped around until I found a great deal, so the investment was an even better one, but retail is still totally a bargain. The amount of sugar and chemicals I am NOT consuming because I drink so much more water is even more valuable than the cost savings.

Plus, my guests LOVE it. I had a couple over for supper the other week and the fellow said something about how he never drinks seltzer. I tempted him with a glass and he ended up drinking an entire bottle, all to himself, during the meal.

Another friend brings a juice she particularly likes (that I don't) and she revels in making herself 'cocktails' during her visits.

I'm supposed to be off of carbonation due to bone issues (looks at bottle of diet Coke guiltily and pops more calcium). Is the fizzy water folks are talking about the same thing?

Connie, the bone issues associated with fizzy drinks (specifically colas and other dark drinks) are caused by an acid used in their manufacture, not the carbonation. Here is the page at livestrong that talks about phospheric acid.

I will probably break down and purchase one, AFTER I have paid off my debt to the house for the Danny Elfman/Tim Burton box set.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I can't have any carbonation now, supposedly because of the way the carbonated drinks fill up the stomach more than regular water would. I don't know if I believe that or not, but I haven't had any since Thanksgiving, just in case. Considering I was a Diet Coke fiend, I'm surprised I'm doing as well as I am quitting it cold turkey.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Yeah, I'm seriously fighting hitting the "checkout" button on a soda stream. My completely sorta-specious reasoning is that since I'm working from home I'm drinking way more fizzywater.

Actually, that's my totally serious reasoning. The specious reasoning is "that makes it almost kinda like a business expense! Pay no attention to the bank balance behind the curtain!!"
