Oh, god, Amy, those things are to die for. The only thing better are the ones in their restaurants.

Oh yeah. Marie Callendar's was the bomb when I was a kid. I can still taste their cornbread with honey-butter from memory. Those potpies were like crack to me. They also had some soups I liked.

Now I think I need to go make cornbread. I have the crockpot of chile verde for dinner and cornbread sounds like an excellent side to go with it.

California and Arizona I know for sure. Not sure where else they may be now.

We used to have one here in town. I thought they were a western thing.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

They were in Colorado when I lived there.

The MC restaurants I visited were in California's East Bay and San Diego.

hip deep in pie

My side of the street seems to be on a different grid than the rest of the neighborhood. My power goes out when the neighborhood several blocks away goes out.

Kathy, hooray for the kindness of strangers!

I think I shovelled about 25-30 cms of snow out of the walkway just now. That's what fell since this AM. It's been snowing steadily all day, most everything is shut down, but it's not that windy yet, so it doesn't seem too bad out. That's probably because I have a big pot of veggie chilli and nowhere to be.
