Ugh. Still feeling like crap. Trying to figure out how to best rebook all the trips through combo of corporate travel and directly calling airline (am supposed to use corporate travel, but they don't know I don't have change fees becuase of my status, if I call the airline).
Don't wanna do other onerous tasks, like cleaning.
My onerous task was getting up and going to work, something I hadn't yet managed
all year.
Do I feel good about it? Mostly I feel sleepy.
I've been doing well with onerous tasks of late. Apparently I find it easier to be the grown-up in the presence of a manifestly not-grown-up person. (It also seems to work around my brothers.) Next task - primary school application! For 2015. Insanity!
Ryan is going to be the oldest child in his class. His birthday falls exactly on the cut-off date, so he's set to be the youngest or the oldest. I told Wallybee that I'd been the youngest in my class; her reaction to this was fairly muted compared to my proffered corollary, "and I turned out alright". So, we reached agreement that Ryan will in fact be the oldest in his class (once she stopped laughing).
Three more essays! Three more essays! Three more essays! Well, at least three more that were turned in correctly. Another two might be still floating out there.
That pie sounds amazing David.
They make me happy to look at.
I know! The house always looks so desolate for the first few days after the tree is down. I think I am going to have to light some candles tonight.
I jsut bought a swack of silver ornaments for 75% off that I am going to use to make an ornament wreath. Unfortunately, the wreath forms seem to be sold out right now.
My old roommate showed up fortuitously, and is writing me a check. So I had no choice about that particular task, but it all worked out.
I am for serious when I say that my life went way off the rails once people stopped giving me gold stars for doing stuff I was supposed to do already.
Oh, man. This is TOTALLY me. I'm almost 40 and still haven't gotten over the loss of gold stars for doing my chores.
yay! my "certificate of wellness" or whatever the craxy terminology is came through fine and i'm getting paid for last week and this week. *phew*

The gold star economy goes in entirely the wrong direction. My income is now higher than when I was a kid, why has the supply of gold stars so woefully failed to keep pace? Hell, if it behaved the same way, by now I should have an entire bookcase of trophies engraved with "CLEANED ALL THE THINGS".
...Ok, a shelf at least.
YAY homework!
Also, I have finished grading all my long papers. Now I just have portfolios left and entering grades...
