It's my estimation that... every man ever got a statue made of him, was one kind of sumbitch or another.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Thrive to spite them

We had a great thanksgiving - just Mom, me, Bro, Dad, and cutest nephew ever!

Instead of the traditional turkey we had Pesto Turkey Breast and Honey Grilled Quail.

With what turned out to be Pesto gravy (made from the drippings of the turky) and it was yummy.

My nephew is still kinda shy around me, and I accidentally made him cry. But when I was cooking I did get random leg hugs.

Also even though he can say his name he refers to himself as Boy. He'll say his name if you show a picture of himself but if you ask "What's your name"

BOY!

askye, I'm glad you had such a great day. Random leg hugs are fun. And that meal sounds delicious!

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I don't like stuffing/dressing. Outrage in 3, 2, 1...

Had a great meal with minimum maternal fussing. She even stayed relatively calm when a bobbled pepper grinder pass resulted in a broken piece of china.

Then we watched Doctor Who, kind of a holiday tradition. We're still only on season 2.

Now I'm back home, with lots and lots to do. For the moment I'm watching NCIS and eating asparagus fritatta and jarlsberg cheese.

Ugh. I got super sick last night, and don't know if it was the migraine (I haven't had one that made me that sick in years) or worse thought, if it was the food! Now I'm scared to eat my leftovers. AND, because I felt so bad, I left the pie out overnight. Anyone know if it's still good?

meara, I'm sorry you were so sick. What kind of pie? If apple or other non-creamy fruit it's perfectly ok. If pumpkin, or something with dairy in it, I'll have to check further.

Pfft. More for me.

Pesto Turkey Breast is going to be a Thanksgiving staple -it's super easy- Make (or i guess buy) pesto , shove it under the skin, smear it around, cover and cook 1 1/2 hours then uncover and cook the last half hour.

And it's stayed super moist, I had leftovers that weren't dried out.

So Mom and I went and did some shopping today, unfortunately nothing fun the fridge has to be replaced. So far there's only 1 contender but Mom is looking for a better price.

She did talk to her sister (who is G'ma's caretaker) and told her about the fridge. Then after a while my aunt called back and said "after a long talk with Mother, she wants to pay for your plane ticket since you have to buy a fridge"

Mom was like "long talk, huh?" But my aunt feels (and I feel) that if she could have a talk with G'ma that's what she would want.

edited Mom is flying up to see her Mother and my Aunt next week. G'ma is still hanging in but it's obvious that she is in the "transitional" stage and she's in a lot of pain. At this point I'm hoping Mom will get up there for the funeral just because I don't want G'ma to suffer any more.

Thanks for hte link, windsparrow! My guest texted back that he didn't get sick, so I blame it on the migraine and will feel ok eating the leftovers. Whew!

Oh, askye. What a tough time for your family. Much transitional~ma for your G'ma. And lots of peace~ma for the rest of the family. {{{{{{askye}}}}}}

meara, I'm so glad your food-borne illness worries are over, and glad to have been some use.
