Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Having deep thoughts, following yesterday's meeting with uni people, about such things as why they are so against me going part-time, and what their hidden agendas are. Can't decide what to do with their various options. Hmph. People.

The tumblr is cool! I shall try to post nice things there if I find them.

I like the doggie talk. We are considering getting one. Possibly a pug. I need to be sure that The Girl's going to be around enough to help me care for it, though, so not just yet. But, pug!

I'm really, really empathy-impaired. It's frustrating, because it really isn't something I can change, and I've managed to get to a point where I'm almost capable of it, but it is a constant effort, because my brain's not hardwired for it.

Can totally relate, from an autistic spectrum point-of-view. Reading body language is similarly difficult. I've almost had to learn both step by step. And I don't make eye contact. People just get to deal with my dreamy staring-into-the-distance communication style.

Safeway cashiers are forced to address customers by their first names and I hate it.

Ugh - horrible. I'm waiting for the day when I'm old enough to be considered a cranky old maid (in the old-fashioned, 'those two ladies who live together must be spinster sisters' way) and can insist on everyone calling me Ms J. I hate being referred to by my first name, by everyone. It's too familiar. It particularly rankles with doctors.

bonny, it's good that you've made decisions regarding your friend. I hope they're ones that you remain happy with.

Time-for-rest~ma, ChiKat.

Her -for all intends and purposes- stepdaughter is interning at the Old Globe. How cool is that?

That's so cool! What a great job.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Toddlers are weird. G is currently very happy to be warching a show about construction trucks, but at the sane time he is clinging to me for dear life because the real trucks are outside and he is afraid of them.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

That sounds fair. I would react in much the same way to dinosaurs.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Me too. Also, zombies and vampires.

Good points, WS and BT.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Timelies!

I had set the alarm for 7:30 but I woke up before 6 because of all the water I had to drink. And I still need to drink more because I can feel I've still got too much sodium in my system. Gah. I need to throw those potato chips away because I can totally imagine that I'll start eating them again when this is over. I'm that bad.

This is the first time I've been up for dawn in months! I'm either railing or cycling up to see Harry Potter at the Arclight at 10:30am. I'm going to try tostart the huge project of getting my room decluttered and going through my moving boxes.

Spidra, next time you buy chips, look for ones that list the potassium (and have twice as much potassium as sodium). Then you can eat them because you need the electrolytes.

ChiKat, lots of ~ma for your family. So sorry for your loss. Also, I do hope you get rid of whatever bug is bugging you.

Actually, too much potassium has made me feel this way before, too (my mom has used salt substitute in the past). The best solution is for me to not eat potato chips. When I'm eating low-glycemic, these would be verboten. :)

Always Anti-fascist!

Tep, I've read that it can be helpful for the other dog to see/smell the body. We brought Baile back so Betsy would know what happened to her "sister". She's buried out here, which is totally against CC&Rs but we didn't get caught for it. I still have her collar in here where I write, but I don't touch it because Betsy gets psyched when she hears her tags jingle. But there is a shrine in here because she sat here while I worked so often.

Ann, that's a ferret.

I've read that it can be helpful for the other dog to see/smell the body.

My experience is with bonded pairs of cats, but I can vouch. Marie not only saw Max's body, she saw him being put to sleep. As opposed to Seamus, who only saw Rigatoni being taken out of the house in his carrier.

Marie seems to be handling the situation fairly well less than a month on. While after more than a year, Seamus seems to be still grieving and waiting for Rigatoni to come home.

Maybe it's their different personalities. Marie is more aloof, and Seamus is more sensitive. So take it for what it's worth.
