erika, I'm thinking this at your nemesis:
You couldn't get a clue if you were doing a clue mating dance and wearing clue musk, during clue mating season, in a field full of horny clues.

Laura, your weekend with Trudy sounds fabulous. Just hearing about it is making me smile.

Much peace to you, your mom, and Ray's family Daniel. So sorry for your loss.
I just ordered this rug for the music room/library/guestroom. [link] How can this be a kid's rug? It's AWESOME. T
I'm sorry for your loss, Daniel.
question for the parents of teens: how do you decide which teen drivers your child can accept rides from?
My exstepmother is tearing out her hair. My 14 yo sister is now in high school and has friends with liscenses and cars offering her rides (esp after play practice in the evening.) Of course sister would rather get a ride with a cool junior or senior than wait for mom or stepdad to shuttle her around, but her mom is terrified that all teenagers are terrible drivers (they live in a rural area with poorly maintained roads and there are legitimately a LOT of accidents every year involving teen drivers). She asked me how to "screen" potential drivers. Erm. I have zero idea how parent, esp teens. Any suggestions?

Good question!
I did a number of stupid things while driving as a teenager. Like getting into high-speed chases with other teens or seeing how fast my parents' '73 Mercury would go (answer: 120 mph). And I knew kids who did much more stupid stuff than I did.
My parents trusted kids who were good kids. Didn't necessarily mean they were good drivers, but the likelihood is there.

What state are they in, erin? In some states, drivers under the age of 18 can't drive other minors who aren't family members. Or something to that effect.
