how do you decide which teen drivers your child can accept rides from?
Good question!
I did a number of stupid things while driving as a teenager. Like getting into high-speed chases with other teens or seeing how fast my parents' '73 Mercury would go (answer: 120 mph). And I knew kids who did much more stupid stuff than I did.
My parents trusted kids who were good kids. Didn't necessarily mean they were good drivers, but the likelihood is there.
She asked me how to "screen" potential drivers. Erm. I have zero idea how parent, esp teens. Any suggestions?
What state are they in, erin? In some states, drivers under the age of 18 can't drive other minors who aren't family members. Or something to that effect.
My condolences to you, your mom and Ray's family, DCJ.
Man, I am feeling lightheaded, dizzy, and a little spacy. No more ladders for me today. And straight home to bed. I wiil not get sick this week I will not get sick this week I will not get sick this week...
Virginia. IIRC, at age 15 and 6 months after certain classes you can get a learners permit that requires driving with an adult 21 and prohibits driving passengers under 18 who aren't family members, or during certain hours. But after age 16, the test, and a certain number of hours with an adult driver, they can get a full flegded DL w/ no restrictions.
Daniel, condolences to your mom, Ray's family, and you and Windsparrow.
bonny, I don't think I ever actually typed my happy reaction to your news about Niki. Sometimes things just turn out better than we hoped, and I'm glad in your case.
Any news from the eloped Tea Cups today? Are they still honeymooning, or have they returned home?
Take it easy till you feel better, smonster.
Jealous of both Laura and Trudy, but glad both of you got to play in such good company.
