Come on out, River. The nice man wants to kidnap you.

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Y'all, thanks for the ~ma last night when I wasn't hanging around to get it. Many tears in my eyes because y'all have my back.

(Still no cunning plan to take over the world and/or get paid to surf and fence and garden.)

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

As The Girl reminded me on the phone today, this is exactly why I have a probationary period in my contracts.

Wise clause for those contracts. I'm glad you've got The Girl on your side, too.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

As The Girl reminded me on the phone today, this is exactly why I have a probationary period in my contracts.

The Girl is wise.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

The Girl is wise indeed.

36 hours later, and it's starting to hit me: my God, I do have a very cool job! (now, if only these ex-professors were more efficient... I need some data to work with! Data I cannot have until they'll reply my emails!). No complains, though, but they will have to get used to me and my tendency to work with fixed deadlines.

Ah, the irony!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Yay, Shir! Good luck getting those e-mail responses.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Yay, Shir of the cool job!

The Girl is wise.

She wears fluorescent green sweatshirts, eats cold pizza, chooses to live in an environment that would be better suited to a barn animal, and is a dog person. Not sure 'wise' is quite right. (But she is lovely.)

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

now, if only these ex-professors were more efficient...

t laughs helplessly at the combination of the words "professors" and "efficient"

She wears fluorescent green sweatshirts, eats cold pizza, chooses to live in an environment that would be better suited to a barn animal, and is a dog person.

Except for the fluorescent green, she sounds wise to me.

It's supposedly 65 degrees outside, but I am COLD today, and tempted to turn on my heat....hrm...

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Would a Petco or Petsmart carry the Cat Attract litter? I switched litter brands recently (got tired of dealing with how much the old brand tracked), and things have not been going well despite trying to transition the cat gradually.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I built a small trial fire in the woodstove yesterday to see if I`d cleaned it properly. Turns out, yes, because three logs burned all day. It was 63 in the house when I started it! It was perfectly reasonable to start a fire! But yeah, I guess I don`t really need them yet. I think I`ll still remove and clean under the firebricks, maybe tomorrow. Still have woodshed work today, as yesterday I got to a certain point and then needed input.
