On my seventh birthday, I wanted a toy fire truck, and I didn't get it, and you were real nice about it, and then the house next door burnt down, and then real firetrucks came, and for years I thought you set the fire for me. And if you did, you can tell me!

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

It's all about balance, babe.

Let me help you with that resume, and have a cookie. Now fuck off for a while.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I am pissed at one of my profs. It's an online class and in one of the discussion threads on the class thread I posted, "blah blah blah rules of grammer" blah blah valid point blah."

My PROF, replies with "blah blah blah rules like grammar (not grammer, Aimee!) blah blah I'm a douchebag blah."

WTF dude? It's a freaking BLOG POST. There is no spell check, it was a simple mistake in spelling, and WTF in general.

And in the VERY NEXT POST, a classmate writes "blah blah blah cannons of writing blah" and he says NOTHING. He replies and spells canons the proper way for this posting, but doesn't correct her.

I know I'm already predisposed to not liking this dude cause I'm having other issues with him, but jeebus that sucked.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Welcome back, bonny! We missed you. That was a very lovely note, and I am wishing you all the best health.

Your story reminded me of Marianne Faithful's excellent biography. She said that she didn't learn trust growing up, or being a pop star or dating Mick Jagger. But when she was a homeless junkie, living on a wall in London for several years she learned that other people could be benevolent and would be kind to her and take care of her.

Sometimes when you are laid low you can find that kindness in the world.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

bonny, it is good to see you posting, and I am so glad to hear that you are starting to feel better.

I have no idea how I am going to get up early tomorrow to babysit, but I suppose it should involved going to be soon. Night, Bitches!

Absolutely this.

It isn't that I didn't know the people in my life were good folk, but the incredible depth of their generosity is staggering.

My oldest friend in town...we've drifted into different lives. He has two small kids, etc.

He called, seeming a bit hurt that he had to hear about my struggle from a neighbor. Honestly, it never occurred to me to trouble him.

We talked about how I am uninsured and the hospital bills are going to be rough. Completely unbidden, he said, "Well, I'm going to pay your October rent." Just like that.

People are amazing.

With all that appreciation, I'm off to get the rest I talked about. Sheesh, I'm double dog tired.

Thanks for the great welcome back, folks. Y'all rock.
