People who live outside London seem to think it's impossible to drive there, but I have no problem (apart from the hideous traffic), and I'm not a confident driver. I'm much more nervous of major highways. I think it's all about the driving conditions you're used to.
Yay for Matilda not hating the program!
Wishing you one appropriately pissed-off attorney, Barb.
Things are looking very not-good again for The Girl's father. I am so crap at being the supportive partner. Especially with me being a demanding care-ee, and with the complicated family relationships there, and all of that. Blah.
In PA they put stop signs at the end of on-ramps. I just don't get it.
The one that I have to take every day, it's because the on-ramp goes directly into traffic -- there's not a little bit of a lane to drive in that's just for the on-ramp people before merging with the cars already driving down the main road. And the way the ramp curves, it's near impossible to see if anyone is coming until you're actually right at the end of the ramp, so if you just kept driving, there's a good chance you'd side-swipe someone that you hadn't been able to see a second ago. I hate that ramp. The ramp itself curves so sharply that you really do need to slow down to 20 or 25, or else anything in the car that's not secured will start flying around.
Jilli, Goth Pundit. What does her Army of Darkness think about the midterms? Is there a pall, or would that just be another day at the office?
I'd set up a season pass for that show.
Now, to draft the fuck off and die letter with my attorney.
Oooooh, if you can share the highlights I'd love to see it.
I'm a big fan of driving wee, fuel efficient cars. But whenever I plan to drive around or out of Detroit I rent a nice midsize car or higher, because the state of my birth requires some serious wheels. If I ever move back I'll probably trade in my Fit for a Buick of some kind.
and on the first Monday in October she'll start.
Mama's little Supreme Court justice!
Yeah...we'd all watch that.
My first fwy driving experience was the Pasadena Freeway with its microscopic onramps and twisty turns. I also got some of my first driving experience at 13/14 when my dad let me drive a stick shift Ford Fiesta in San Francisco. So my dad went straight to the white knuckle stuff and not much has scared me since.
Except this interchange down in OC which has so many different fwys coming together across so many different lanes and SO MANY MALE MENOPAUSE SPORTS CAR DRIVERS SLALOMING AT YOU.
Happy Birthday to Emmett! Wow. 14. And new-school~ma for Matilda.
Driving in central NJ scared me. For anbout a year I refused to drive anywhere I didn't absolutely have to.
(Also, insert standard warning here about how herbal supplements are unregulated and frequently found to contain massively divergent doses than is listed on the packaging, so be careful about how much you take, herbal != safe, blah blah herbs are drugs toocakes.)
This is why I grow my own! /Eliot
Hey, video-gaming people -- I've realized that I've pretty much never used my PS2 since I got the Wii, so I'm thinking about selling the PS2 and games and stuff and using the money to buy some new Wii games. I'll be selling with it about six games, including a Dance Dance Revolution game with a dance mat. I figure I'll list it on craigslist. What should I set as the price? I've checked craigslist to see how other people are pricing them, and I've seen $60 for the PS2 and about 40 games, and $15 for a dance mat, at $30 for 20 games, so I'm figuring about $40 for all this stuff? That sound reasonable?

Seconded!
Trudy, I hope you are able to get through the rest of your day and sleep soundly tonight.
The restroom baskets for my friends wedding are done (it was a pain in the ass trying to track down hem tape this time around), and not it is time to give into the snot monster and collapse on the couch.
