You know what the chain of command is? It's the chain I go get and beat you with until you understand who's in ruttin' command here.

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

My first fwy driving experience was the Pasadena Freeway with its microscopic onramps and twisty turns. I also got some of my first driving experience at 13/14 when my dad let me drive a stick shift Ford Fiesta in San Francisco. So my dad went straight to the white knuckle stuff and not much has scared me since.

Except this interchange down in OC which has so many different fwys coming together across so many different lanes and SO MANY MALE MENOPAUSE SPORTS CAR DRIVERS SLALOMING AT YOU.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Happy Birthday to Emmett! Wow. 14. And new-school~ma for Matilda.

Driving in central NJ scared me. For anbout a year I refused to drive anywhere I didn't absolutely have to.

(Also, insert standard warning here about how herbal supplements are unregulated and frequently found to contain massively divergent doses than is listed on the packaging, so be careful about how much you take, herbal != safe, blah blah herbs are drugs toocakes.)

This is why I grow my own! /Eliot

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Hey, video-gaming people -- I've realized that I've pretty much never used my PS2 since I got the Wii, so I'm thinking about selling the PS2 and games and stuff and using the money to buy some new Wii games. I'll be selling with it about six games, including a Dance Dance Revolution game with a dance mat. I figure I'll list it on craigslist. What should I set as the price? I've checked craigslist to see how other people are pricing them, and I've seen $60 for the PS2 and about 40 games, and $15 for a dance mat, at $30 for 20 games, so I'm figuring about $40 for all this stuff? That sound reasonable?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Now, to draft the fuck off and die letter with my attorney.

Oooooh, if you can share the highlights I'd love to see it.

Seconded!

Trudy, I hope you are able to get through the rest of your day and sleep soundly tonight.

The restroom baskets for my friends wedding are done (it was a pain in the ass trying to track down hem tape this time around), and not it is time to give into the snot monster and collapse on the couch.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Only the good kind of eep! I know it's come up as a sudden decision, but it really sounds like a great opportunity in so many ways.

It is. Her priority in placement in the school for K is at #2, right behind the automatic in of siblings. So unless the entire incoming class is composed of younger siblings, she'll get into Grattan for Kindergarten.

Also, while there is tuition based on-site aftercare for K-2, from 3rd to 5th grade it's free.

Also because the City of San Francisco's population voted for Preschool For All (PFA, one of Gavin Newsom's biggest initiatives in office) they've slowly been rolling it out and it just this year includes Grattan. We will possibly/maybe/probably be eligible for a discount which would take it from $44/day to $30/day. That would be a huge boost for us.

Matilda was shy there, but intrigued by the new play areas. I still know it will be a tricky transition for her, but I think we will be able to finish her M-W-F schedule next week and take her to the new school on Tues-Thurs. Maybe for half days.

And while her birthday is on this Sunday we're doing the party for Oct. 3rd, which will allow everybody a goodbye for her.

Try Game Stop first. They buy and sell new stuff all the time. Though I'm not sure if you get cash or store credit. But Emmett traded in his Wii for his Xbox 360.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Preschool For All

Fucking socialists. Good on ya.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Grattan on the Great Schools website.

Mural on the front of the school.

The school has a big garden that's integrated into all the coursework of the school at every level.

Smonster would approve of the green-themed education.
