One of the (many!) reasons I love my naturopath MD is that she takes my insomnia issues seriously. She finally said "You're a life-long chronic insomniac. Seriously, take .5mg of Ambien every night. That's better than you be constantly sleep-deprived".
Let me tell you, this feeling well-rested thing? AMAZING. I had no idea!
Yay Erin's new doc!
And congrats, smonster! Whether or not you take it, it's great that they recognize your awesomeness.
I like sleep. Sleep is good.
Woohoo, smonster! Good decision-making ~ma to you!
Yay, Erin! It's nice when your doctor has good sense *and* good ears.
penchant for self-disgnosis
Hee. I have this, and it's no typo. "I think I have, um, that thing. That I read about. It's deadly, you know. Ow, a pain."
I would love some sleep.
Unfortunately, it would seem since I had the Craxy o'Doom, sleep has been in short or shite supply. And taking anything to help me sleep leaves me quite moody the next day, so it's not like it's a big help.
And I cannot nap during the day. I have to be falling over exhausted (like yesterday) to catch a thirty minute nap.
This sucks.
Hee. I have this, and it's no typo. "I think I have, um, that thing. That I read about. It's deadly, you know. Ow, a pain."
Hee! No, a Cuban will give you the full diagnosis with proper terminology and request for meds by the formal name.
It's truly a fascinating aspect of my culture.
I sleep as a defense mechanism, too.
Zen, I would love calls if you don't mind.
Smonster, would it get you to NO?
Quite possibly. They have a big project down there, and said we could talk about a plan.
With relocation?
Unknown.
Is it more money than what you do now?
6k less, unfortunately, at least to start. Plus bennies aren't quite as good. Would have to cut back in a few places.
Would it get you outside, where you want to be, doing hands-on work?
Yes and yes. I'd be training/mentoring newbie carpenters, people who've been chronically unemployed or who are transitioning back into society.
edited to fix typos now that I'm on a computer
Woman! Have you done a sleep study? It's possible the sleep you're getting at night is shite.
Um, no? I don't snore, though. I think I just...like to sleep. But a sleep study is on my list of "I should probably do one of those someday" things.
YAY job offer, smonster! But...$6K less? Time to start bargaining! You know you don't have to just take their offer!! Even if they're a nonprofit! Women do that, and they're at a disadvantage!
Erin, I'm really glad you found a doctor who helped you. I have no idea what is going on with that other doctor but you don't want her as your GP.
Heck if it were me, once I got some sleep, I'd be making calls to find out if I could file some sort of complaint against her.
You went nearly 2 days without sleep and she can't return your phone call? Even if she thought you were just drug seeking she should be ... I don't know...acting like a doctor trying to help you.
