Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

So, we gave Xanax to Trinian last night. To say she is not thrilled about the kittens is putting it mildly.

Oh, poor Trin and you guys. And Ruthven.

Cats, man. Puppycat just puked and I was eating oatmeal at the same time. Was. Blech.

Walnut brains, IJS.

Oh, I know. Trin is legendarily dumber than the average cat, so the whole WORLD is making her angry and she doesn't know why, poor fluff.

I'd be fine with her being grumpy and hissing at the other cats, I'd even be kind of okay with her wandering around making grumpy noises randomly; it's the complete freak-outs, flailing, and yowling that I want to stop. Poor dim fluffy cat.

On the other hand, Ruthven and the kittens have been scampering around after each other.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Jilli, when I first got Cosmo, and had her in kitty quarantine (waiting for results for feline AIDS. etc., and for introduction reasons), and then when I started introducing her to Gimlet, I seriously thought for the first two weeks, I might have to re-home Cosmo because Gimlet was freaking the fuck out.

Screaming, yowling, constant hiding, etc.

I made it a practice to constantly pet and love Gimlet, getting around her face and scent glands, and then go rub Cosmo, to get Gimlet's scent on her, and vice-versa.

When they were both in the same room, I would love on one for several minutes, in full view, and then love a little on the other. Cosmo's a love-pot, and just wanted to be friends with Gimlet, so she was no problem. I also did a lot of rubbing of catnip on Cosmo's fur, so that she would have a more appealing scent.

And, you know, giving them catnip, and letting Gimlet sleep with me in the bedroom with the door closed for the first week after releasing Cosmo into the new enviro.

I also kept the cat food in separate places for a couple of weeks -- different rooms, then same room, different corners, then side by side.

They had to use the same catbox after Gimlet was out of quarantine, though -- two weeks of having a disposable litter box in my bedroom was enough.

They DID become acclimated, but it took time, deliberate actions and patience on my part.

Yeah, I'm doing the love on the kittens, then go love on Trin routine. Part of the issue is just the inherent problems in introducing a new girlkitty to one that is already established in the household.

In not-really-a-tangent: do you people have any idea how hard it is to sit on a balance ball in front of the computer while a small, affectionate kitten is clambering all over you? Difficult. Very difficult.

More than a year in, Darby and Gracie still completely Marcie each other. It's bizarre.

Compassionately intolerant

We have folks who have worked for the census bureau, right?

Can anybody suggest a reason that the CB would be calling me on a Sunday with a case number? They offered an 866 number.

It just seems weird.

google the 866 number and see if it's been reported.
