Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Good to hear an update on Maria's DH. Continued ~ma and love going out to them.
So StW texted me yesterday and invited me out with him and some friends. We got into an epic Muppets discussion (complete with me singing various lyrics, and the whole table doing a Swedish chef impression) and it was generally lots of fun. And he spent the night. I'm okay at the moment - the good still outweighs the uncertainty, at least for now. These boys give me so much good practice in radical acceptance. /half-sarcastic Still going to Queerlesque tonight, with or without him, unless the weather's too bad.
Best wishes for your friend's recovery, Matt.
Maria, lots of vibes of all kinds headed your way.
I'm sorry to hear the grandparents are going back again, bt. When will they be able to return?
Busy as usual this weekend. Getting ready to head out to do construction work on house we want to sell. Also helping my son move into his first apartment this weekend. I got a nice mom basket of all kinds of goodies for him. Also will clear a bunch of furniture I have been holding for him out of the warehouse. Much to do.
Did meara make it into New Orleans OK?

When I saw that photo on fb, I said out loud, "You are such a great mom!"
smonster I'm glad you had a good time.
lots of vibes and good thoughts to Maria and her DH.
I forgot it was the Saturday that the Stanley Cup is in Burlington so I missed that.
But I'm still on to meet Will's kids.
Also the weather is still fucking with Vermont -- there's more rain and potential for flash flood warnings Sunday night through Tuesday in all the places that have already been flooded.
More roads are opening up some of them very temporary roads or really rough and now the towns are also having to deal with an influx of "disaster tourists" who want to see how bad things are.
Aww, hi Tom! Yes, I'm here, went out til 4:30 am. Woke up to a memo from the hotel that they're closing the restaurants and discontinuing housekeeping for the weekend. Eek? But I'm in a room with a friend and a hot hot girl. We are about to stock up on booze.
We are once again a three-person household. Everything went smoothly at te airport, untilit was time for Wallybee's parents to say goodbye. Ryan twigged what was going on then; it was pretty heartbreaking watching his little face breaking up. Lots of wailing and tears.
It lasted about two minutes before he got distracted by a line of trolleys. All smiles again before we even got out of the airport. I think he's going to be ok.

Aw, fuck, really? I was reading last night that Vermont tourism people are worried that the damage the floods will keep people away during leaf-peeper season, which is their HUGE economic boon every year.
Relatedly, the cannery for my brother's restaurant opened yesterday (it's not in the same place as the restaurant, and it didn't get flooded or damaged), and they had a TON of business. They expect to sell out their entire inventory of cans by mid-afternoon today.
So tired- so much socializing and stuff with several old and dear friends who flew out here for Tom's 40th birthday. The storm makes me feel guilty and I am just socially fatigued.
Going to the aquarium with everyone in a bit though.
