StW did reply, and basically just said "Thanks for being so understanding." I was hoping for a slightly more in depth answer, but at least it wasn't an outright rejection. But now I have a quandry - while tubing the other weekend, we met a couple we liked and I got the girl's phone number so we could all hang out. She texted me today to see if we wanted to go get drinks this week or next, and now I don't know what to do. I've told StW it's up to him to call me when he wants to see me, but I don't really want to tell this girl what's going on... anyone got a nice, delicate turn of phrase for me?

Don't say anything, just show up. If she mentions him in the call, you can just say "i'll let him know if I talk to him, but I know that you liked me best." If she asks, just say "it's complicated" :)
