Someone tell me that I am not crazy wrt one thing: We should not be responsible for dealing with changing lightbulbs, etc in the common areas of our apartment building, right?
Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
No, you are not crazy; that is the landlord's responsibility.
Thanks, Sail. The light fixtures in the hallway and outside are either burnt out or broken and you would think we asked him for a million dollars. He lives down the street.
Maybe some past tenant took care of the lightbulbs without realizing.
Maybe. I think he is just cheap and doesn't want to be bothered about anything.
I just found out my great aunt (who has been in declining health) has just taken a serious turn for the worse. She's not really drinking and has stopped talking. I love Great Aunt C like a grandmother (and in fact growing up I'd half the time call her Grandma C) and my Grandma E (her older sister) may not get up to see her before she dies.
I don't want Great Aunt C to be in pain but I wish that Grandma could see her one more time. It's only a 6 hour drive but because of health and family situations Grandma hasn't been able to get up and see her and it's just....very sad.
{{{askye}}} I'm so sorry. That's very sad.
Thanks sj.
I just got an email update. Great Aunt C ate something and drank some and so that's good. The doctors now think she had a stroke and that has affected her right side and her speech. She has been able to respond/smile a little bit. Saturday my aunt is taking Grandma up to see Great Aunt. Even if they can't talk at least they can be together.
My Great Aunt is an amazing and interesting person. After WWII she went to Alaska - from Georgia - by herself. I think she had a job lined up and some girlfriends were going to go but they backed out. So she took a bus to Seattle and then took a boat to Anchorage (I think that's right). There she met her husband and the first year they were married they lived in a hotel and ate room service every day.
She also was really involved with the Republican party on a state level and I think she even went to DC for a few events.
I didn't agree with her politics but she had an interesting life.
So, the headhunter has suggested that we do business cards. I'm going with vistaprint. Basically, they will just have my name, email, and googlevoice number. Should I add some characteristics (i.e. "Logistics, Administration, Education, Legal") or maybe my Linked In profile?
I'd say yes, Vortex -- e.g., Higher Education Administration: Legal & Project Management specialist -- and you can also put your LinkedIn profile address on your business cards if the profile is complete.
ION, we had a hell of a storm last night, lost power, I woke up when the cat peed on the down comforter and soaked through to the bed, and I am drinking coffee sans milk. Blearch.
What's the name of the stuff that works well on cat pee? I'm not thinking Feliway; I'm thinking the stuff that gets cat peesmell out of fabric?
And good morning. Yar.
