I just got an email update. Great Aunt C ate something and drank some and so that's good. The doctors now think she had a stroke and that has affected her right side and her speech. She has been able to respond/smile a little bit. Saturday my aunt is taking Grandma up to see Great Aunt. Even if they can't talk at least they can be together.

My Great Aunt is an amazing and interesting person. After WWII she went to Alaska - from Georgia - by herself. I think she had a job lined up and some girlfriends were going to go but they backed out. So she took a bus to Seattle and then took a boat to Anchorage (I think that's right). There she met her husband and the first year they were married they lived in a hotel and ate room service every day.

She also was really involved with the Republican party on a state level and I think she even went to DC for a few events.

I didn't agree with her politics but she had an interesting life.

So, the headhunter has suggested that we do business cards. I'm going with vistaprint. Basically, they will just have my name, email, and googlevoice number. Should I add some characteristics (i.e. "Logistics, Administration, Education, Legal") or maybe my Linked In profile?

I'd say yes, Vortex -- e.g., Higher Education Administration: Legal & Project Management specialist -- and you can also put your LinkedIn profile address on your business cards if the profile is complete.

ION, we had a hell of a storm last night, lost power, I woke up when the cat peed on the down comforter and soaked through to the bed, and I am drinking coffee sans milk. Blearch.

Yeah, I mean, if you were designing a website or making greeting cards or painting a shotgun house in New Orleans or knitting a scarf and needed some inspiration. That's how I'm taking it.

Oh! In exciting news, my roommate is bringing home a 3-mos old feral kitten from the zoo today, so it doesn't get put down. This should be interesting... maybe Frankie will get to have a kitty friend!

You know what's magically awesome? Having authority to match one's responsibility. Like, in my job, I don't just make recommendations on what's salvageable and research markets that will never get used. I can make it all happen, instead of watching it go into the dumpster when it doesn't have to. MAGIC.

Now to figure out how to shore up a bldg so it won't fall on us while we're taking it apart so we can salvage the wood and sell it.
