I was not aware until today that some homeless shelters require drug testing.
And in many communities it is illegal for a private citizen to give food to the homeless.
Glory ,'Potential'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Is anyone else with AT&T Wireless having massive problems? Calls keep going straight to voicemail even though I have full bars, texts won't send...
YES!
I'm waiting on a fridge being delivered, and I can't even GET INTO MY VOICEMAIL for the call that went straight there!
Uggghhhhhhhhhhhh................
it's normal for healthy adults to have occasional metldowns including loud cussing and slamming of doors, right? How often is too often?
Maybe, Windsparrow, but in this case, I think he doesn't see the connection. More like the people who say "Increased national surveillance shouldn't bother you if you have nothing to hide." Also, by the time they spend the money on testing, clearing up the screw-ups, and court challenges from spoilsports like me, it would probably be cheaper to pay everyone twice(Not that I have exact figures on that.) It *would* be better stimulus, though.

I try to keep mine down to two a month or fewer. I'm not always successful. I'm more successful at keeping them for times when I am alone.

Yeah. Not smart with the thinking is. "Where's the money going to come from to pay for all those tests?" From the existing social services budgets, of course.
Well, loud cussing I do all the time! Or at least under my breath. And I try to avoid the meltdowns, as they are usually caused by being HANGRY. Maybe once a month? But I tend not to slam doors. I think some of it depends, too--are you scaring other people by slamming doors? Are you acting like you might take it out on them? Are you cussing at someone to their face?
It's less than once a month.

no

no
I think I am hypersensitive because a former member of this household used to do things like put a fist through a wall.
I'm pretty sure this is normal and I am continuing to do the right thing by ignoring it when it happens.

I'm confused. Are you doing this, or is a housemate?
In any case, I would have a hard time living with someone who had a "meltdown" such as you described (slamming doors, swearing, etc.) every month (or more often), unless there were extenuating circumstances (serious ongoing stress, etc.).
But everyone has different tolerance levels; if it's no big deal to you, then no worries.
Honestly, I know it depends on the person (and sometimes family or culture plays in), but that’s not normal in my world. I don’t do screaming and door slamming (except in extremely rare situations where something has gone completely off the rails) and cannot be around it without serious emotional distress. I have some triggers from an emotionally abusive ex, so I may not be the norm for this.
