Happy Anniversary, Barb and DH!
Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Thanks for all the good wishes, guys! And yes, that restaurant is to DIE for-- a little slice of NOLA in Seattle and with totally reasonable prices. Plus, a breakfast Happy Hour! How awesome is that? We seriously debated whether we should go for dinner or breakfast, to tell you the truth, since we've already been there for dinner before but have yet to make it for breakfast.
Happy Anniversary!
Happy Anniversary, Barb and DH!
Welcome back, Erin!
I'm glad you are better, Nonian!
And Hil, I agree with the "use one of those healing bandage thingies, and call the doc if signs of infection show up," strategy. I wouldn't do that at work, but I'm not allowed to do my own thinking there, medically speaking, that is.
Hey, All.
Happy Wedding-versary, Barb! Enjoy your evening out with your Honey.
Hil, meara, hope you're feeling better soon. Nonian, glad you're feeling better.
Busy weekend, considering I was nowhere near ComicCon.
Friend of a friend got me in on a tour of the FAA TRACON station (where they keep the air traffic controllers) near where I live, which is actually all air traffic control (except for the actual towers at the airports thenselves) for all of Southern California. Very cool, though I was one of the only people on the tour who is in no way involved in flying, so there was a bit of "uh-huh"ing when they talked in acronyms I don't know. (Note to ita and anyone else with headache triggers: NEVER DO THIS. The very dim room with dark monitors and little flashy lights, then walking back to normal lighting - insta-headache (thankfully not migraine, though, ibuprofen & caffeine took it down, but still)).
Then saw a new (to me definitely, but I think just new in general) musical (free, because a friend recently got an affiliated job) called Sleeping Beauty Wakes. I was a little leery because I always worry a bit when somebody fiddles with one of my faves, but this was really good. In addition to the musical itself there was some very inventive choreography, including using furniture, & really evocative lighting design (and seriously, I never note lighting). They didn't have the soundtrack available yet, but I pre-ordered - can't wait.
Anyway, very fun, though I'm tired today. I usually take 1 weekend day to do nothing but recharge.
Happy Anniversary, Barb and DH! Anyplace with a breakfast happy hour is either awesome or a contradiction in terms.
Happy anniversary, Barb and DH!
Epic, that sounds like a fun weekend! Our weekend consisted of packing and more packing, then buying boxes so we could continue packing. Though we also managed to squeeze in three movies, so that was fun. And necessary, at least on Friday night, when our a/c was busted. (Fixed now, thank god.)

Was that at La Jolla Playhouse? If yes, the bulk of the sound system is from my workplace. One of our students worked on the sound team. Need to try and weasel some free tickets.

Very fun, though tiring ('cause I also ran all the non-interesting errands and etc.), but nowhere near so tiring as yours! Good luck this week getting your last details to come together. Every time I read your posts, I want to volunteer my pickup to help - then I remember the whole "opposite ends of the continent" thing and say nothing.

Yes, it was. And yes, you should. I really enjoyed it.

Aw, thanks! We are a bit far from California, though. I think everything's coming together OK, there's just a lot to do. I keep looking around and thinking, we must be almost done packing, right? And then I remember the closets, or the bathroom, or my desk, or the pantry. Etc. etc. But soon enough comes the fun part: unpacking and decorating the new place!
