Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I don't even know what the alternatives are.

IUD FTW! I picked the IUD when I was 35 because of the increased rate of clots and heart stuff in older women (ouch...I'm "older"). The Mirena does release a low dose of levonorgestrel, but my OB/GYN said that because it releases it in the uterus, the levonorgestrel doesn't get into your system the way it does with oral BCPs. And then there's the totally non-hormonal copper IUD.

Although there also non-latex condoms. I don't know how they compare, in terms of sensation and whatnot.

Also, Zen, you can get the lambskin condoms. Although not if you're a vegan, I guess.

There are other synthetic nonlatex condoms too, which I would google if I weren't at work. But I've been buying them for years. I can't remember the exact name, but I'm pretty sure the brand is Durex.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I'm the opposite of vegan! Lambskin condoms would work, as will the non-latex plasticy ones they have now, but neither have been proven to prevent transmission of HIV, so that's its own little problem.

I'm pretty sure I don't have a problem with nonoxynol-9, but I cannot believe how much lube I need. (And I feel like that, for some reason, requires whitefont, when I regular-font every damn thing else about my sex life. I refuse to whitefont the lube!)

Oooh, new antibiotic. Keflex (which is, IIRC, cephlexin). I'm curious to see how many days it's for. Probably about a billion.

I will have NO flora left anywhere within a 10-foot range of me.

I've considered the IUD, but it would only be worth it if I were in a committed monogamous relationship, and I'm not even dating right now!

And then there's the totally non-hormonal copper IUD.

Considering copper rings turn my skin green, I don't think I want anything copper up in there!

Like I said, not even dating right now. If and when the question begins to loom, I'll actually do some research.

Oh, heck yeah. I waited until I was sure we were committed and monogamous before I went to the trouble of the IUD. I was just paranoid with only condoms.

And we *still* use condoms, every single time we have PIV sex. We are the most paranoid people on the planet. (But, well, condoms mean less mess, too, and I just don't find the messy byproducts of sex to be very sexy. Ick. I am what I am.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Considering copper rings turn my skin green, I don't think I want anything copper up in there!

I'm pretty sure you're not locked down to Cu.

And there's also plenty of non P in V sex to be had.
