Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Thrive to spite them

I don't exactly know how to document phone calls. But i have the receipt from when I overnighted my payment.

I'm sure i won't hear back from anyone by the end of the day but I'll be calling first thing in the morning and asking for the supervisor who I talked to.

Supposedly I'm goign to have insurance and it's going to be retroactive so I'll get reimbursed for the money I paid out of pocket for my prescription. Which is roughly the same as I want I sent Ceridian.

Tomorrow I'm going to call the state and figure out if I could qualify for assistance with BC/BS Vermont. If I don't I'm going to call BC/BS of Vermont directly and see what my options are. Based on what I've read on their website an individual policy with a $5000 deductible is about $100 less than I what I'd pay for COBRA.

However, in GOOD insurance news -- my car insurance situation no longer resembles Penny's from Big Bang Theory (she gets a lot of tickets). I had a bad driving record, all my fault and the big insurance companies wouldn't touch me. So I had to go to the high risk no frills insurance. Which was running me $220ish per month. Yes that's PER Month.

But stuff has fallen off and before I moved I switched to Gieco and now I called and updated my information and got a Vermont policy. It's even cheaper, like $130/6 months. Then I signed up for rental insurance ($160 for the whole year, I could have gone cheaper but I didn't) and I'm getting another discount for my car insurance.

The key is getting names. So that you can say "On 3/24, I spoke with Freida in the Claims department, who said (a) that she does not have a supervisor I could speak to and (b) they had not received my money. On 3/25 I spoke with Janet in the COBRA department who said they HAD received my money on 3/14 and that she would reinstitute my benefits. On 3/26 I spoke with Missy who said that they had not received any money" Etc etc.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I *so* feel you. Allegedly our May coverage is reinstated as of today, and so I called CVS Caremark (aka, The Company Holding My IUD Hostage), but they have to verify it themselves and said they'll call me back when they have done so.

Of course I haven't heard back from them, so they're getting a call at 9:00 tomorrow morning.

It is unfuckingbelievable how difficult it is to fix things that go wrong with health insurance.

Always Anti-fascist!

My brother is an *insurance agent* and still gets caught up in it. Even though you'd think he'd know all the "Say The Secret Word" bullshit that would help.

I haven't handled a lot of these call very calmly or rationally. This whole thing hits me from a real place of fear and panic. Fears of backsliding and not having access to medication and losing the progress I've made. Rationally that's not going to happen. there are options and I'm smart enough and have the help and resources to figure out those options.

So when I get on the phone I start swirling into a panic. However, today I managed to stay fairly calm and not rant and rave and get pissy too much.

I have enough meds to last me through June. Because my prescription is for tablets to be split I have enough refills to last me for a year. I just have to keep reminding myself of that.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Ok, but you can use this thread to reconstruct some of it. Let`s start going back and getting an idea of what was said on what dates.

All is well that ends in pizza.

It's too quiet.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Hey, Liese (or anyone else) - any interest in a bunch of back issues of Orion magazine? I also have about 20 back issues of Bust, and probably the same of Bitch.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Totes! I would happily pay postage for the Orions.

Sweet. Shoot me your address at my profile addy. Should be able to send them media mail, so it shouldn't be much. Damn, I have five packages to send out. I should do some of that tomorrow.
