Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Punishingly Intricate

You are a better person than me, askye. If I were going through that there would be much crying and yelling and me saying "That's okay, I'll hold until you can find someone for me to talk to who can actually fix the mess you people made."

Thrive to spite them

Oh there's been crying and yelling and lots of angry words.

Supposedly each supervisor i've spoken to can fix things and there's no one higher up on the food chain for me to talk to. And of course I can't go to their office since it's in Florida.

However, if I was in Florida i would be driving to wherever it was and camping out in the office until someone fixed this.

It's so stupid and everyone keeps apologizing and keeps saying I shouldn't be told whatever it was I was told that's now wrong. But like I told the lady today, I don't want their apologies or their "understanding" i want this fixed.

Can you report to the your department of labor or consumer affairs or the State Attorney General? They have your money. You don't have health insurance.

Finally caught up.

Nora, sorry to hear about your grandmother, and much coping-ma on the family front.

sj, sorry to hear about TCG's grandmother.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

seriously askye, document and send this info to your state reps. People that can help. COBRA is part of you rights - so some one that is screwing things up and can't get the story straight possibly should not be doing business in Florida. Your situation is not unusual. People often need COBRA when moving. This should not be this f'ed up.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, definitely start exhaustive documentation if you haven't already. This is ridic.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Askye, what everyone else said. This is beyond ridiculous.

I have to go back to the doctor tomorrow because they couldn't get any blood from me today. I'm headed shopping now because even though 70% of my wardrobe is black, I have nothing to wear to the wake and funeral. I'm between sizes at the moment and nothing fits right.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I sympathize with the not-giving-up-blood stuff, sj. Pound water and stay away from caffeine for the next 24. It helps. A little. I will drive all the way across town and sit in the waiting room for an hour to get the tech who finds the vein first time, every time. She retires? I guess I'll have to find an alternative. Don' wanna.

askye, the whole situation is beyond ridiculous, and I hope the latest supervisor really does know her stuff and gets it straigntened out for you.

Ginger, can you call the doctor and get some reasonable advice? Even on effective palliative care if it's not treatable with ABX? Ease-ma to you, meanwhile.

Nora, be kind to yourself, as you're trying to be supportive to your family.

(((Bitches))) Just 'cause.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Thanks, Beverly. I usually know all the tricks, but I was distracted this time around. The person that is going to be there tomorrow has had success with me in the past, and I am already slamming the water.

Thrive to spite them

I don't exactly know how to document phone calls. But i have the receipt from when I overnighted my payment.

I'm sure i won't hear back from anyone by the end of the day but I'll be calling first thing in the morning and asking for the supervisor who I talked to.

Supposedly I'm goign to have insurance and it's going to be retroactive so I'll get reimbursed for the money I paid out of pocket for my prescription. Which is roughly the same as I want I sent Ceridian.

Tomorrow I'm going to call the state and figure out if I could qualify for assistance with BC/BS Vermont. If I don't I'm going to call BC/BS of Vermont directly and see what my options are. Based on what I've read on their website an individual policy with a $5000 deductible is about $100 less than I what I'd pay for COBRA.

However, in GOOD insurance news -- my car insurance situation no longer resembles Penny's from Big Bang Theory (she gets a lot of tickets). I had a bad driving record, all my fault and the big insurance companies wouldn't touch me. So I had to go to the high risk no frills insurance. Which was running me $220ish per month. Yes that's PER Month.

But stuff has fallen off and before I moved I switched to Gieco and now I called and updated my information and got a Vermont policy. It's even cheaper, like $130/6 months. Then I signed up for rental insurance ($160 for the whole year, I could have gone cheaper but I didn't) and I'm getting another discount for my car insurance.
