Do I wish I was somebody else right now. Somebody not... married, not madly in love with a beautiful woman who can kill me with her pinkie!

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

So I'm having a hard day, and what appears in my mailbox but a package from amyth, with a super-adorable Edward Gorey cat pin and an extremely sweet note inside it! Thank you so much, not just for the pin, but for saving my day!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

So scary, Anne. I`m glad you`re ok.

She did say "several years later"...

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

She did say "several years later"...

So she conjured a 12 year old at that time, and he was the appropriate age later? I mean, there are a lot of Ecuadorians. What made Trudy's incantation special was his age. I want to know how that played out.

And what's with all the carrots?

Anne, glad you are safe! The pictures of the airport and surrounding area look devastating.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Thank you! I'm still a bit detached on some of the photos. I know those places. I've been in those places. I'm just glad that there wasn't any serious injury.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Anne, glad you and yours are safe. The photos of the damage to the airport are scary.

Anne, I'm glad that no one was badly hurt, for all the damage.

Thrive to spite them

Beautiful day for travelling, even if I got us turned around a bit.

And I saw 2 camels.

My brother posted pictures he took of me and my nephew on his faceook. They are great pictures but i look at my self and think --omigod I need to lose weight. Also I don't see how I really look until I look at pictures.

Trust my rage

I assumed what Trudy meant was that maybe 10 years ago, she referred to a 12 yo Ecuadorian and today she's dating a 22 yo Ecuadorian.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Anne, so glad no serious injuries.

I have another round of viral conjunctivitis in my left eye. At least it looks and feels exactly like the last round just before the PixDesign wedding. Took out my contacts (boo, hisss) and went to the backup glasses which i HATE. Seriously not wanting to do cardio today after work with glasses slipping down my nose :( Also wondering if i can start using the drops from last time....since my next day off when i could go to an optho is thursday and that's far too many days of feeling like there's something in my eye, or that the pressure might make it explode. I know it won't, just feels like that. On top of all the craxy job stress this is making my day suck.

on the bright side, i am revolting against the new ergo-mice. My employer, in very well-intentioned but poorly-implemented attempt to improve our ergonomics, replaced every old mouse on the floor (lots...2 out out every 4 mice at 35 stations) with the streamlined trackball mice recommended by some ergonomics consultant. Everyone hates them, for different reasons. I hate them because they are RIGHT FUCKING HANDED and can't be switched to left handed. I mean, i'm sure they *can* be, but us worker bees don't have the security access to change anything on the computers. Including preferences for mice. The first day i spent the first hour desperately trying to use the mouse with my left hand, meaning i had to click with the pinkie and ring finger. 4 ibuprofen and an emergency off the floor break to ice my hand and i gave up. Wrote some letters to the health and safety committee pointing out that their brilliant plan to improve our ergonomics entirely excluses every left hander on the floor. Never got a response.

Today i found the cache of all the old, crappy mice! the kind that you move around to the detriment of your wrists, but can click with either hand. I sneakily took one and plugged into into my main cpu. (the other monitors i use less, so can continue mousing with my right hand.)

I'm sure in a matter of days some1 will put some nasty letter in my file for violating some HR rule (which i will fight vocally until they give in to my entirely reasonable demand for a left-handed mouse), but in the meantime i am using the illicit, forbidden, phased-out mouse AIFG.
