Wishes of safety for everyone caught in or near the storms. They sound bad.
Travel~ma, askye!
The dog fur dog is brilliant.
I'm definitely in a fibro flare, but my Girl has come home and is making me hot drinks. Which helps immensely. I managed to stand up enough to sing in Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services - I'm not sure I sang all that well, but at least I was there!
Also - there is Doctor Who tonight. I'm like a six-year-old about it. I don't know when this happened, but it's fun.
I'm glad the worst of the weather missed you, Anne.
Toke's a pretty cat.
Has anyone else seen the doritos ad where a guy sucks his coworker's fingers to get the crumbs off? And then rips another coworkers doritos-smeared trousers off to sniff them? And, if so, does anyone else find the ad deeply skeevey?
The good news is that despite the damage, there are no reports of fatalities or even serious injuries. This had the potential to be really horrific, but there was enough warning for people to get to safety. There were lots and lots of people treated for cuts after the tornado blew in nearly every window at the airport and ripped the roof off one of the concourses.
The airport has been shut down and they think it may be days before it can re-open. That's the most serious thing that's happened, and it has the potential to foul a lot of things up for a lot of people.
I'm also waiting to hear if anything has happened to my workplace. Nine-story mostly glass building right where one of the tornadoes was reported to do a lot of damage.

Yes and yes.

I'm much the same way!
The news reports from the airport look awful. I hope your building is ok and that you hear soon.
Doritos ad is totally skeevey, but I laughed hard when I saw it. I think that was superbowl day. I don't generally watch live tv so I haven't seen it since.
Doctor Who!

Well, then, dear, you're in the company of a lot of six-year-olds.
Doctor Who! Doctor Who! Eeeeeeee!
I wish I could watch Dr Who
pout.
I guess I'll have to console myself with seasons 1-4.
Is there a difference between finely diced and minced?
Minced is finer than finely diced. Also, diced implies more uniformity of size than minced.
In other news, the water heater part I need is in-state and on its way to me, despite the airport closure. I felt bad worrying about that when there are other people dealing with much worse fallout from the storm. Still, it will be nice to have hot water back.
That photo of the dog made out of fur made me laugh and laugh.
Anne, that sounds massively scary. I'm so glad people came through it all right. Maybe the world IS ending in May...
If the world ends while I am at school, I am going to be PISSED.
I spent 9 hours watching the first season of Glee -- most of it -- on streaming Netflix. D is out of town, so I HAD THE COUCH AND TV, y'all! (He totally wouldn't care if I took the TV for a night, but it's his man-cave and I have my...er...woman-cave? Hee. Where I usually watch Netflix on the laptop. It was FUN! I watched TV until 3 and ate creme horns in my underwear for dinner.
Spring Break insanity! WOO. I also didn't TOUCH the laptop or the Internet all night. Crazy! Totally solitary, and then I slept till 1 pm -- insane -- but my body knew I didn't have any reasons to fly out of bed and grade/yardwork/meet a friend for Farmer's Market, and it was FAB.
You dated a 12-year old, Trudy?
