INDEED.
I love how any mention of THIS WEEKEND immediately makes us go all ASSCAPS.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
INDEED.

She's supposed to go to NOLA after I BUY HER A DRINK.
That could totally happen THIS WEEKEND. IJS.
Shit, we've both got free time. It could happen TOMORROW.
It must look *twice* as bad where you are, huh? (/Davis imitating W.) Good luck.
Shame, shame, shame, indeed. eta and I think I'll listen to that soundtrack right now. Thanks.
Can I just say, this is why I believe in nurturing relationships? I've already talked to three people in NOLA who want me down there and will feed me opportunities and such. BOOYAH, BITCHES. It ain't my fault I'm the sheeit! /xtina
smonster, so sorry for the layoff ... but the idea of using the NOLA branch to get a start in the city you want to move to is a good one.
And Fred Pete, sorry to hear about the kitty, but - from what you've done in the past - we all know you're doing everything possible for his health and happiness.
If the boss in NOLA could provide you with a bridge until you settle in there, I say take it. You will do good for them, even if the only good they do for you is a paycheck.
this. It'd give you a bridge to be in Nola, rent s place, then really look for something awesome.

If NOLA is what you would like to do, it doesn't hurt to try.
Maybe we need another NOLA F2F...
Ugh, smonster's company, how so crappy? But I hope you stay solvent long enough to get her to where she so clearly belongs.
smonster, damn. That sucks a lot, but it also sounds like you'll better off to be rid of them.
I just don't want to be employed by them when they go bankrupt, if that happens - would I be eligible for unemployment, then?
I can't say with certainty, but I'd expect so. No fault of your own and all. You might miss the last paycheck though. Still, it's a bridge, not a foundation.
I don't know the laws in every state, but you should be. You should be eligible for unemployment now, as long as you weren't fired for committing a crime or anything.
I am eligible for unemployment. Trying to file a claim right now, but the online shit is wonky, so I guess I'll have to do it over the phone. Need to eat lunch, first. Or rather find something to eat while I'm on hold.
I'm sorry to hear the news, smonster, but I'm more in awe right now at how in a short span of time you're already planning for what comes next. You rock!
Aw, thanks, Burrell. I'm doing it all on a couch under a blanket with a cat between my feet, so it's fairly painless. And I might as well use the adrenaline while I've got it. I really need to tackle my resume, but I'm not up for that right now.
Next question to ponder... do I go ahead and give notice to my landlady? Should probably line up a place to crash here, first. But I need to do it soon, if I'ma do it. Hmm. I sure don't want to be locked into a year lease, so maybe I might as well.
