Most people is pretty quiet right about now. Me, I see a stiff -- one I didn't have to kill myself -- I just get, the urge to, you know, do stuff. Like work out, run around, maybe get some trim if there's a willin' woman about... not that I get flush from corpses or anything. I ain't crazy.

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

I have come to the conclusion that when trying to build an academic career (on in my case: when others' are making suggestions you can't refuse to and you're playing along), sex is something you only read about in fanfiction (that is, in the 10 minutes you have to yourself on the bus after finishing an article for class), and social life is the time you spend online with friends (between sending emails to professors).

This.

Hope you're getting the odd break somewhere, Shir!

I'll go back and read 300 posts in a minute. Hi, all. I'm too busy and too tired. Productive and very happy, though. I currently love my PhD. (Research methods FTW. Seriously.)

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Wait, I'm sensing a trend here. Shir goes to university. Seska is getting PhD. I work at university. All too busy to do much else. I think this university thing is a racket. It might be an alien control thing. Ooo! I get it now. They attract the brightest minds, then devoid them of life, suck the energy out of them, and BAM! They can conquer the world a lot easier! Be on the look out for big V ships invading a university town near you.

Omnis_Audis needs to stop falling asleep while watching sci-fi shows.

Tough call. :: ponders ::

eta: had to fix bad spelling of university. Oy. Yeah. need sleep. Night! :: waves ::

OMG.

That makes every kind of sense.

You know too much, omnis. You're going to get yourself abducted now.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Gronk, I want to know when I am going to start feeling energetic from my iron infusions. Right now all I have to show for them is bruises.

The status is NOT quo.

Iron(wo)-ma(n), sj!

I have slept four hours. It is 5:50am and I an about to face a day of nonstop parent conferences. Do not want.

I feel for you Pix. I never seem to sleep on Thursday nights, and of course Fridays I have G here. Good luck with the conferences.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I tried to go to bed an hour earlier than usual, and while I was in bed, I was not sleeping. Fortunately, the insomnia fairy took pity on me and I probably fell asleep before my regular bedtime, so it was worth it. I'm trying to get my body clock back to a more reasonable schedule for what my work hours are supposed to be. Plus, while I went to bed an hour earlier I only set the alarm a half hour earlier, so more sleep, hopefully. I'm hoping this will resolve some of the ongoing headache problems.

Sail, sorry to hear about the headache problems.

One of the advantages of being the adult in the house is telling G that he can't have a cookie until after lunch, which is after his nap, and then having a couple cookies myself as soon as he falls asleep.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Our local school is doing parent teacher conferences too. I just drove past and it was a madhouse over there.

Thankfully, that is yet another typical teacher thing I do not have to do.
