Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Ooo! I get it now. They attract the brightest minds, then devoid them of life, suck the energy out of them, and BAM! They can conquer the world a lot easier! Be on the look out for big V ships invading a university town near you.

You know too much, omnis. You're going to get yourself abducted now.

Gronk, I want to know when I am going to start feeling energetic from my iron infusions. Right now all I have to show for them is bruises.

The status is NOT quo.

Iron(wo)-ma(n), sj!

I have slept four hours. It is 5:50am and I an about to face a day of nonstop parent conferences. Do not want.

I feel for you Pix. I never seem to sleep on Thursday nights, and of course Fridays I have G here. Good luck with the conferences.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I tried to go to bed an hour earlier than usual, and while I was in bed, I was not sleeping. Fortunately, the insomnia fairy took pity on me and I probably fell asleep before my regular bedtime, so it was worth it. I'm trying to get my body clock back to a more reasonable schedule for what my work hours are supposed to be. Plus, while I went to bed an hour earlier I only set the alarm a half hour earlier, so more sleep, hopefully. I'm hoping this will resolve some of the ongoing headache problems.

Sail, sorry to hear about the headache problems.

One of the advantages of being the adult in the house is telling G that he can't have a cookie until after lunch, which is after his nap, and then having a couple cookies myself as soon as he falls asleep.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Our local school is doing parent teacher conferences too. I just drove past and it was a madhouse over there.

Thankfully, that is yet another typical teacher thing I do not have to do.

I really think I need new glasses just for using the computer, and that's adding to my problems. But I'm very short on funds. I haven't even figured out my taxes yet to see if I'm getting anything back. So, squeezing that out of my budget is something I need to sit down and figure out how to do, because I suspect the right glasses would make a lot of difference.

Go, cookies!

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I just got back from my 6-month review at work. Wow, it's been six months since the changeover, already. Usual anxieties apply - but the man said I was doing well in working with the individuals and in keeping up with necessary training, no complaints about attendance, etc. So my official goals for the coming months include making sure to use floating holidays and pto in a timely fashion so that I do not lose any, and attending a training session on a particular dietary need for one individual (needing to moderate vitamin K intake for someone taking Coumadin).

ETA: Sadly, there was no talk of performance raises, but that is hardly unexpected for a non-profit org. dependent on state health and human services funding. I'm just glad we haven't had any pay cuts.

That sounds all very positive, Andi! Too bad there's no money for a raise, though, because I'm sure you're the most deserving employee they've got.
