Well, then, this is a day I'll feel good to be me.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I was unable to get to my sister's funeral.

Connie, I don't want to speak for amyth, but when your sister died, I don't remember you ever saying or implying that her death was a poorly timed inconvenience to your busy life. But amyth's brother, in the conversation she shared, did unfortunately come across as sounding like their brother's death/funeral would be a big inconvenience to his career.

I don't see any similarity between your situation and his at all.

amyth, I'm sorry if I put words in your mouth, and please tell me if I was wrongheaded.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Hey, you know, this powerpoint won't read itself!!

Here is my late evening dilemma. I'm tired. But, I don't have to get up early in the morning.

Do I

a) take a warm bath and continue listening the the sequel to Bram Stoker's Dracula written my his great-grandnephew

This will mean that I do not get to bed until midnite and my hair will be all funky in the morning. Or,

b) take a hot shower and curl up with that werewolf novel I am about 2/3 through.

This will mean getting to bed earlier, but possibly reading later.

Setting aside bathing choice squicks, what would you do?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I don't know how to do that. I always choose bath given a decent bathtub. And I also choose vampires over werewolves, but baths over showers are ranked higher.

Um, bath and vampire, clearly? I mean, the hair thing won't matter because you don't have an early morning.

Oh, and at the risk of having just been terribly rude, I have been following the funeral conversation and agree with Steph completely, Connie. When you sister died, you expressed a great deal of thought and concern about that experience that in no way correlates with the current situation.

Plus, I have a really nice honey-something bomb to toss in. Kind of incongruent with the material, but nice anyway.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

amyth, I'm sorry if I put words in your mouth, and please tell me if I was wrongheaded.

No, that's totally it. It's like he's planning on not going. Which would sound uncharitable, if not for the fact that he literally said that it "wasn't worth it" to visit our brother unless he came out of the coma, as if there wasn't an entire wing of the family there in need of support, too, and has completely stopped calling my sister-in-law because as he has said on numerous occasions (and said again tonight) "I can't handle it when she gets upset." I made a point of saying tonight that I make sure to call her every few days because I want her to know that she has my support, because what she's going through is so horrific.

Connie, I don't think the situations are similar at all.

Hey, you know, this powerpoint won't read itself!!

SRSLY.

Wait, you can have a bath with a honey-something bomb and vampires and you bothered to ask? That is bathvana. It's a bath, honey and vampires. It's only missing a delicious adult beverage for perfection.

Go. Bath.

I'm totally laughing out loud.

You are right, of course. I was just being lazy and seeking validation of my deepest desire enough to get off my bum.

Even Bartleby will enjoy the bath. I put his bed next to the tub and he knows I'm not going anywhere for awhile so he can sleep in peace.

That does it. I'm doin' it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I also choose vampires over werewolves
