Nora, I'm sorry you're dealing with so much crap.
Vortex, I hope the job shift is okay in the long run despite your trepidation. A bad boss can be murder, I know.
'Beneath You'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Just on a whim I stuck a yogurt in the freezer and now I've got something quite like strawberry banana kulfi. Frosty goodness!
Condo suckfest continues. Just crossing everything that the crazy lady living there leaves as planned.
GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT!!!
Quester--I don't think you have to change yourself, you simply have to change a few of your behaviors. A coach could help you pinpoint specific things to work on--eye contaqct, tone of voice, smiling, whatever, and you will be able to freaking ace the workplace without changing who you are inside.
This is what I was trying to say.
Well, have a short-term temp job at the Airport, telling people where the bathroom is. I train tomorrow and then I work, not this weekend, but next weekend.
Oof. Well, a chance to practice those skills, I guess.
Nora, did the Tenant go crazy on the neighbor or Sid the lawyer? First I read it as the lawyer and was impressed. Then I realized you probably meant the tenant. Sorry b
on the neighbor, heh. It's just funny because they are basically mad at me and my property managers because we don't snap to whenever they complain. Because there's not much that can be done... witness, when I mildly asked the tenant about the neighbor's complaint, she went BANANAS on me via text and banging on their door.
See, engaging can backfire too!
Let there be lighthouse!! [link]
Nora, I'm almost tempted to suggest you find a santero and put a hex on the lot of them-- and I don't say stuff like that lightly.
That's a great lighthouse.
That's a great lighthouse.
I agree.
Nora, I'm sorry about the shitty situation. Wish I could say something more helpful.
In other note, quester, I totally understand (as many other Buffista do). Whenever I'm lucky enough to work with non-zombies who can understand the difference between "workmates" and "friends", surprisingly enough they become friends faster and easier than any social or bossy pressure to "act friendly". As others say, in order to "fake it" one has to change few behaviors, but not herself.
Oh, and.
I think I am friendly...with my friends
I'm erika.
Aims, that lighthouse rocks.
I don't think I've ever been to/seen a lighthouse IRL, y'all.
