ugh Nora. I wish I had more helpful advice than what got me through my wedding which is: mimosas!

It will be a contained group of family, but I have some responsibilities and stuff to pay attention to, plus socializing and talking about living in New Orleans and I am just so tired. I got up at 4:15 this morning- thankfully all went well, travel-wise, but I am just wiped.

Ah well. I will have a cocktail or three and that'll perk me right up.

I just got an email from one of our new teachers telling me that she's still having trouble with not getting all of her emails in gmail--that some of her new emails are going straight to her sent folder.

We went through this EXTENSIVELY last week. They are not going to her sent folder. She is unfamiliar with conversations, so she doesn't scroll back up after replying to a message in a conversation to see if there are other emails that still need response (she sent out several mass-emails that are getting multiple responses).

I am patient, but I am not a saint.

Can she change her settings so that the emails aren't displayed as conversations, vw?

I don't know. That thought never occurred to me, because, really, why would anyone want to do that? Conversations are wonderful things! It's the whole point of having a gmail account!

Shir, I don't think I've ever actually said this, but I do really enjoy reading your perspective on things, especially world events. It's a nice reminder that there's more than one worldview.

She can't, at least not in Gmail proper. Google refuses to do this. Gmail can be accessed with a client like Outlook or Thunderbird, and then conversations can be turned off inside the client.

This makes me nervous about looking at music software with her, though. I'm not interested in increasing my job description to include running the music lab.
