msbelle I'm on cobra now. I don't know how helpful about costs I can be as the cost is 2% over what your company pays for your total premium. So the employee and employer portion plus 2%. Depending on your company that can be reasonable or quite expensive. I'm single and pay $379/month. It lasts 18 months and in CA we can extend another 18 months. I'm not sure about other state rules.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I am related to some people who rather nastily declare that being bi is bullshit, that it's either one or the other. Which I don't get.

I am ten years old again stuck visiting relatives I don't like. My car is in the shop and won't be repaired until tomorrow night. Had a good day fishing with my brothers, but didn't realize until too late that my older brother had gotten shitty on scotch, and then didn't realize that he was hitting my bourbon at the house and his girlfriend was due to arrive in twenty minutes, and he had stolen almost two hundred from our younger brother. And then the pervy carpenter comes by, the one who used to be the youth group leader I crushed on when I was 15, the one who still has swarms of lithe young girls falling over him and who has blown off my parents and their neighbors regarding unfinished business, and is actually showing off a project proposal for a job he wants to get to my dad! And he manages to drop one of his typical "jokes" and insult another family member, and brought a copy of one of his favorite pictures of me and proceeded to talk about my breasts. And throughout all this, my brother is embarrassingly drunk and won't lie down. And my god, I need a cigarette and my car. I so want to blow my mother off tomorrow and just sit on the mechanic to hurry up the repairs.

I think it can vary a lot depending on what your company has negotiated for their policy rate. If your group policy hasn't had any catastrophic insurance payouts they can usually negotiate cheaper rates, a lot depends on how big the pool is.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Ooh. Lots of pretty lightning.

There's this NY Times article (I'm not done reading it yet) that suggests that male bisexuality doesn't exist either.

Fuck, I'm going to have to read the stupid thing, aren't I? Because I'm clueless when it comes to guessing their arguments....

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

msbelle, my COBRA costs were directly related to what I'd been paying beforehand. It was picking up their slack for exactly the same coverage.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I'm familiar with two takes on "no such thing as a bi-guy"

One is, "If some dude puts his dick in you you're gay and that's it." I've heard this from certain straight people.

The other is, "You just aren't ready to admit your gay, honey." This would be from certain gay dudes.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

What they say about COBRA; I think I paid $400-500. It's whatever your co pays in full.

Finally finished The Wire. How do people get work done instead of evangelizing about this show every day? I'm filled with the spirit.
